Ineos Automotive launches a one-off Grenadier in Australia
The ‘Kaiju Quartermaster’
Ineos Automotive’s Australian division has unveiled a unique one-off vehicle, the Grenadier Quartermaster Cab Chassis, christened the ‘Kaiju Quartermaster.’
Drawing inspiration from the Japanese word “Kaiju,” which means “giant creature” or “monster,” the name reflects the vehicle’s immense power and ruggedness. It also nods to Australian automotive culture, which has a long-standing passion for modified Japanese 4x4s.
The Kaiju Quartermaster stands out with its striking all-black design. It is built upon the solid foundation of the Quartermaster Cab Chassis ute. The vehicle is engineered for superior off-road prowess and load-carrying versatility, making it ideal for demanding work and adventure.
The bespoke build showcases Ineos Automotive’s dedication to offering an extraordinary off-road experience, combining cutting-edge technology and top-tier third-party accessories. It has been developed with some of Australia’s most innovative suppliers, including Norweld, Rhino-Rack, Brown Davis, Redarc, GME, BF Goodrich, Maxtrax, and Stedi.
With its fully blacked-out exterior, the Kaiju Quartermaster’s immense presence mirrors that of the highly modified Aussie 4×4 overlanders. It exemplifies the extensive customisation options available to Grenadier and Quartermaster customers, allowing them to tailor their vehicles to suit specific needs and preferences.
Justin Hocevar, Regional Director of INEOS Automotive for the Asia-Pacific region, commented on the project: “We wanted to create a truly unique Quartermaster with some incredibly innovative local accessory partners. The Quartermaster Cab Chassis serves as a ‘blank canvas,’ allowing for great versatility in customisation. Together with our partners, we unleashed our creativity. The ‘Kaiju Quartermaster’ embodies our Australian vision of ‘Built for More.’”
Advanced equipment
The Kaiju Quartermaster boasts an impressive array of advanced equipment, including the Norweld Elite Tray and Compact Deluxe Lite Canopy. These accessories are designed to endure extreme conditions while remaining lightweight. Both items feature an advanced gutter system and rubber seals that ensure optimal dust and water resistance, which are crucial for long-distance off-roading adventures.
The vehicle also includes a Brown Davis long-range fuel tank, model #IG23A2, which provides a total fuel capacity of 168 litres, significantly extending the vehicle’s range. This feature is essential for off-grid explorers who need the ability to travel through remote areas without worry.
In addition, the Kaiju Quartermaster is equipped with Redarc’s RS3 Pure Sine Wave Inverters and a Manager Alpha50 battery management system. This setup, including the Alpha150 150A lithium battery, ensures the vehicle can support the most demanding off-grid energy needs, making it ideal for extended stays in remote locations.
For the first time, Ineos offers a warranty covering select aftermarket components when purchased through official retailers. This gives customers peace of mind when customising their Grenadier or Quartermaster, knowing their vehicle will be covered for the long term.
In the coming months, the Kaiju Quartermaster will be featured at various events and used for promotional purposes throughout Australia.
The Kaiju Quartermaster is designed with off-road enthusiasts in mind. The vehicle has a range of specialised features to support its rugged performance. These include:
- Suspension: The JMACX Alpha Remote Reservoir Electric 2.5 Shock absorbers offer a 16-stage adjustable setup for optimal handling in extreme conditions. They feature CNC machined finishes and Cerakote body finishes for enhanced durability.
- Tyres: BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tyres (315/70 R17) are mounted to ensure exceptional surface traction on all surfaces.
- Recovery: Maxtrax MKII recovery tracks and a Maxtrax Universal Flat Rack mounting kit are included to assist with recovery in challenging environments.
- Communications: GME’s XRS-660 handheld UHF CB radio and Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) provide reliable communication and safety during remote travel expeditions.
- Lighting: Stedi lighting components, including Type-X EVO Mini flood and spot beams, ensure the Kaiju Quartermaster can navigate even in the darkest conditions anywhere on the planet.
