Lufthansa unveils baggage collection service in Frankfurt

Along with check-in service
Lufthansa has launched a new premium service in collaboration with technology provider AirPortr, enhancing the travel experience for passengers departing from Frankfurt.
The innovative baggage collection and check-in service allows travellers to have their luggage picked up from their home or hotel, securely transported to the airport and checked in on their behalf.
Passengers receive real-time updates via a personalised tracking link and a digital baggage tag receipt, enabling them to proceed directly to the security checkpoint upon arrival at the airport. The service is available for €25, depending on location and pick-up time.
The service is available to Lufthansa customers in the greater Frankfurt area, including Mannheim, Heidelberg, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Darmstadt, and Bensheim.
Travellers can book the service through Lufthansa’s website up to 36 hours before departure. The service is planned to expand shortly.
In a media handout, Heiko Reitz, Lufthansa’s Chief Customer Officer, stated, “We aim to continuously improve the overall travel experience of our guests and further expand our premium services—both during the flight and on the ground.
“With the new pick-up and check-in service, we offer our passengers another unique service in Germany. We are making the journey easier from the very first minute.”
The initiative reflects Lufthansa’s commitment to enhancing passenger convenience and streamlining travel. By offering a seamless baggage handling experience, the airline aims to provide a more comfortable and efficient journey for its customers.
