Eneron develops Magnum MK1 Concept for Abu Dhabi Police force

Futuristic vehicle has stealth mode

Eneron, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi-based technology company Kintsugi, has unveiled the Magnum MK1 Concept, a cutting-edge patrol vehicle explicitly developed for the Abu Dhabi Police.

This next-generation, 4×4 bulletproof vehicle is designed to meet law enforcement’s demands, offering advanced features for patrol, surveillance, and the secure transportation of detainees.

With a focus on versatility and performance, the Magnum MK1 is an all-terrain vehicle that can carry three crew and operate efficiently in urban and off-road conditions. The futuristic vehicle was a star attraction when it debuted at GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai this October.

The Magnum MK1 boasts a reinforced suspension system and central tyre inflation system, allowing it to tackle varied terrain easily. The vehicle has multiple driving modes, including range-extender, 100% electric, and silent watch, ensuring it adapts seamlessly to different operational requirements.

In its 100% electric mode, the vehicle operates silently with a minimal acoustic signature, which is crucial for covert operations where discretion is essential. The powertrain features a high-performance hybrid range extender with an 800V electric-drive architecture, delivering power and efficiency for the vehicle’s demanding tasks.

360-degree surveillance system

One of the Magnum MK1’s standout features is its 360-degree surveillance system. The vehicle is fitted with advanced cameras, infrared sensors, and real-time monitoring technology, ensuring total situational awareness for its occupants.

This, combined with the vehicle’s armoured design, which meets the EN 1522 Level B6 standard to withstand up to 7.62mm ammunition, provides vital protection during high-risk operations. The Magnum MK1 also includes an integrated drone compartment in its upper tailgate. This innovative feature allows deploying two drones that can be mechanically extended and provide wireless charging, enabling continuous aerial surveillance throughout operations.

In addition to its surveillance capabilities, the Magnum MK1 is designed for maximum functionality. It has cutting-edge 360-degree sensors, including LiDAR, cameras, and radar, ensuring outstanding performance in harsh off-road conditions.

The vehicle is powered by dual Nvidia Orin processors, enabling advanced artificial intelligence models to process voice, data, and video feeds. These AI capabilities enhance the vehicle’s real-time decision-making ability, vital for modern law enforcement.

Navigator station

The Magnum MK1 also supports in-vehicle and cloud-based computing, allowing for flexible storage and seamless data processing. A dedicated navigator station within the vehicle features a 28-inch high-resolution monitor, an integrated connector hub, and ample storage, making it a central command point for any operation. Additionally, the car includes a secure, one-person prisoner cell, complete with built-in cameras, microphones, and speakers, continuously monitoring detainees.

To ensure maximum operational efficiency, the Magnum MK1 has a flexible interior that can be adapted to meet the needs of various missions. The seats are swivel and reclining, allowing them to be reconfigured to suit different tasks. For example, seats can be rotated to face inward for prisoner monitoring or adjusted to create a command post with direct access to the navigator station.

Heavy-duty operations

The vehicle is built to handle the demands of heavy-duty operations. It features a 3,950mm wheelbase and a curb weight of 5,100kg, with a payload capacity of 1,500kg and a towing capacity of 6,000kg.

A hybrid drivetrain powers the vehicle. A thermal engine produces 125kW (168hp) and 340Nm of torque, complemented by an electric motor with a peak power of 800kW (1,072hp) and 1,560Nm of torque. This allows the vehicle to achieve a top speed of 150km/h and a maximum driving range of 810km on asphalt at 60km/h, with a 105km range in 100% electric mode.
