Milestone: Middle East has keen eyes on technological transformation

Danish company has cutting-edge VSaaS solutions

Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) is a cloud-based security solution that empowers users to conveniently access their Internet Protocol (IP) cameras from any location using a computer. This allows for easy viewing of surveillance footage and ensures continuous monitoring and enhanced security.

VSaaS technology primarily consists of two types: IP-based and analogue systems.

IP-based cameras, a key component of VSaaS, are integrated into video management systems (VMS). They offer a range of features, including live streaming, recording, and retrieving video footage. Their ability to use the internet for data transmission and require a Local Area Network (LAN) connection for processing makes them versatile and suitable for various surveillance needs, providing reassurance in any security setup.

In contrast, analogue cameras record footage onto a digital recorder, which converts the video into a digital format. This footage can be displayed on a monitor or router and shared across an internal network for remote access.

Use-case scenarios

VSaaS offers a variety of service models, each with its unique benefits. These include managed, hybrid, and hosted options, catering to the diverse needs of different sectors. It is utilised across multiple sectors, such as industrial, military and defence, institutional, public facilities, and commercial enterprises, ensuring a suitable model for every user.

The global VSaaS industry is poised for significant growth from 2024 to 2030. With a market value of approximately $3.69 billion in 2022, it is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 19.01% during the forecast period.

By 2030, the market could exceed $10 billion, driven by the rising demand for cloud-based security solutions and continuous technological advancements]. This growth potential makes VSaaS an attractive investment and a promising career path for security professionals and technology enthusiasts.

What are the Middle East’s expectations for on-premises versus cloud solutions regarding data-driven video data management?
