My Community… A City for Everyone Initiative

Launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the “My Community… A City for Everyone” initiative aims to transform Dubai into a fully friendly city for people of determination by supporting and enhancing the emirate’s efforts in empowering people of determination, maximizing their participation and integration into society, and creating new pathways to ensure their positive engagement in the social environment independently, making them capable of production and creativity.

Wosool Rating Standards

The “Wosool” certification for buildings qualified for people of determination by Dubai Municipality aims to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all members of society. These standards include comprehensive guidelines ensuring easy access to buildings, public facilities, and services through:

  • Creating Standardized Walking Pathways: Ensuring pathways are wide enough, flat surface, and slip-resistant to facilitate movement for both the elderly and people of determination.
  • Providing Suitable Elevators and Stairs: Ensuring easy access to elevators and stairs, with enough space for wheelchairs, ensure the availability of handrails on both sides of the stairs, and wide doors for smooth access.
  • Designating Parking Spaces for People of Determination: Ensuring a sufficient number of designated parking spaces easily accessible from the building entrances.
  • Designing Clear Signage: Ensuring signage is easy to read and understand for everyone, including those with visual impairments, using large fonts, contrasting colors, and clear symbols.

The establishment invites the public to visit its official website at www.mbrhe.gov.ae  to learn more about its services and the ongoing efforts to develop the housing sector in Dubai.
