Omada and Jaecoo unveil new models in Wuhu, China
At Chery group’s global user summit
Omada and Jaecoo, the vehicle brands of China’s Chery International, participated in the 2024 Chery International User Summit, held in Wuhu, China, earlier this month under the theme ‘For Us For Future.’
Along with the other automotive brands in the group, including Chery and Exeed, Omada and Jaecoo used the event to highlight a commitment to the future of mobility through innovative models and technology.
During the summit in Wuhu, Chery International’s headquarters and manufacturing base, Omada unveiled the C7, while Jaecoo launched the J5. The Omada C7, with its hyper-futuristic design, promises the most comfortable driving experience in the series. It features high-quality materials and advanced technology for rapid acceleration and precise handling.
In contrast, the Jaecoo J5 is positioned as the pinnacle of seamless technology, sustainability, and lifestyle convergence. It includes practical features like contact charging ports, camping lights, a towing capacity of 1,250kg, and pet-friendly amenities such as antibacterial air purifiers and extended seating options.
Test drives of the new models were conducted throughout the event, allowing attendees to engage directly with the vehicles. The summit also featured an immersive User Ecosystem Carnival, fostering a stronger connection between Omada and Jaecoo and their users.
Custom designs
User engagement was further enhanced through a car refitting competition that allowed automotive enthusiasts from several countries to submit custom designs for the Omada C5. This initiative celebrated creativity and offered insights into customer preferences for their ideal vehicles.
Shawn Xu, CEO of Omada and Jaecoo, emphasised the company’s dedication to pushing innovation boundaries, stating, “We are committed to delivering groundbreaking products and cutting-edge technology, and we are excited to bring these innovations to the Middle East.”
Aligning with their sustainability goals, Omada and Jaecoo hosted a cycling event in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Participants advocated for green travel and environmental awareness.
The Chery International User Summit concluded with the Jaecoo J7 PHEV long-range challenge. The vehicle exceeded its benchmark by travelling 1,353km from Guangzhou, achieving an electric range of 125.2km. With a fuel consumption of 3.3 litres, the J7 PHEV demonstrated the effectiveness of its super hybrid system, designed for efficiency and environmental sustainability.
This year’s Chery International User Summit showcased Omada and Jaecoo’s latest advancements. It reinforced the twin automotive brands’ mission to innovate while engaging users and promoting sustainable practices in the Chinese automotive industry.
