Philanthropists Across Dubai Unite for a Night of Vision and Impact: The Sparkle Gala by EMIR 2023

A meeting point of vision and mission, The Sparkle Gala by EMIR will take place on 8 December 2023 at Armani Hotel Dubai. Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, this year’s gala will unite opinion leaders, intellectuals, business owners, and philanthropists from across the UAE for a common cause – to help better the lives of children. The Sparkle Gala by EMIR, a partnership between The Sparkle Foundation, a UAE-based non-profit organization, and Emerging Markets Intelligence & Research (EMIR), a leading boutique advisory and research firm, aims to raise AED 1,000,000 from this year’s gala to save lives and create a positive impact for over 5,000 children in Malawi. Registered under the International Humanitarian City (IHC) in the UAE, 10% of the proceeds raised on the evening will go towards IHC’s Global Impact Fund, which supports emergency humanitarian relief around the world, including the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Having faced the heart-breaking reality in Malawi first-hand, where one in five children do not make it to their fifth birthday, Sarah Brook founded The Sparkle Foundation in 2015 in the UK and in 2021 in the UAE, to create brighter futures for children and at-risk communities in Malawi through education, healthcare, nutrition, and community support initiatives. Through the support of their 200+ volunteers, the foundation has supported 15,000 children and community members across 17 villages in Malawi, provided over 16,000 medical treatments to children, over 600,000 meals, and educated over 2,400 children. Through events and initiatives such as its annual Sparkle Gala, the foundation hopes to scale its model to reach 100,000 lives by 2030.

The Sparkle Gala by EMIR 2023, set to be one of the biggest charity events of the season, will feature guests from across the region united by a common cause; to help to make a difference in the world. The live auction featuring various brands, activities and experiences, will be complemented with live entertainment and a delectable three-course menu, to thank every guest for their contribution.

Speaking about the upcoming gala, the Founder of The Sparkle Foundation, Sarah Brook, said: “The Sparkle Gala stands as a testament to unity and a shared vision to help others in need. In partnership with EMIR, we’ve crafted an evening not just of elegance and entertainment, but of purpose and generosity. Following the success of last year’s event where the foundation raised AED 364,000 and drew together 329 of Dubai’s most influential and prominent CEOs, creatives, key opinion leaders and prominent brands including Al Tamimi, Lush, Al Tayer, McCone Properties, PwC, Jumeirah Group to name a few, this year’s gala, bolstered by EMIR’s collaboration, promises to be an even more illustrious event. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and network with over 300 high-net-worth individuals including the Sparkle Gala by EMIR’s Advisory Board, a group of 12 prominent key opinion leaders from various sectors, including the visionary behind The Sparkle Foundation, Sarah Brook.
