Cloudera unveils Private Link Network for highly regulated sectors
Launched at EVOLVE24 Dubai
Cloudera, a global leader in hybrid data, analytics, and AI solutions, has introduced the Cloudera Private Link Network, a new solution designed to meet the stringent data security and privacy needs of highly regulated industries and the growing demands for secure, internet-free cloud connectivity.
The Cloudera Private Link Network unveiled at EVOLVE24 Dubai on September 12, 2024, ensures that data transmitted between customer workloads and the Cloudera Control Plane remains secure and private, avoiding exposure to the public internet.
Industries such as finance, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals often grapple with privacy issues due to the uncertainty of data traversal across the internet, even within the same cloud.
The Cloudera Private Link Network provides a unified, cross-cloud private connectivity service, enabling secure management of data-intensive workloads across various cloud environments through a single, specialised network.
Integrating with significant cloud providers via AWS PrivateLink and Azure Private Link, among others, the Cloudera Private Link Network enhances secure data transfer across multiple cloud environments. It offers a consistent security framework and streamlined management, allowing customers to self-serve and provision services efficiently through the Cloudera Command Line Interface.
Manifold benefits
Dipto Chakravarty, Cloudera’s Chief Product Officer, highlighted the benefits: “The Cloudera Private Link Network is designed to address enterprise privacy and connectivity concerns. By managing this network ourselves, we reduce the total cost of ownership and liberate valuable resources, enabling organisations to focus on strategic initiatives. We are committed to maintaining data integrity and trust throughout the architecture.”
Cloudera Private Link Network is designed to be both user-friendly and adaptable. Two deployment options fit an organisation’s needs. These two options can be activated on demand using the Cloudera Command Line Interface (CLI).
The VPC option is best for organisations that prefer a full setup through Cloudera’s CLI, which provides comprehensive control and management. The authorisation option is ideal for customers who want to integrate Cloudera Private Link Network with their existing cloud automation tools, like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, without requiring cross-account permissions.
Cloudera Private Link Network features a consumption-based pricing model, so customers only pay for what they use. This transparent and predictable approach allows organisations to scale their Private Link Network usage to fit their needs, whether for individual cloud virtual networks or entire Cloudera accounts across multiple cloud platforms.
