Sberbank invites entries for AI Journey Contest 2024
$90,000 prize offered
Sberbank, the largest bank in Russia and a leading global financial institution has opened registration for its highly anticipated AI Journey Contest, an international online competition focused on artificial intelligence (AI). The contest, conducted in collaboration with the AIRI Institute, boasts a prize fund of RUB 8.5 million ($90,000).
Participants in the AI Journey Contest 2024 will be able to tackle one or four distinct challenges. Additionally, solutions will be evaluated based on inference time, aligning with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) priorities and improving user experiences with AI models.
The contest is open to participants aged 18 and over. Applications are accepted until October 28, 2024, at https://dsworks.ru/en/group/ai-journey-contest-2024.
The winners will be announced at the AI Journey conference, Sber’s international event dedicated to AI and machine learning.
Andrey Belevtsev, Senior Vice President and Head of Technological Development at Sberbank said: “Every year, we see innovative AI solutions from around the globe that push boundaries, enhance our lives, and streamline business processes.
“This year, we focus on tasks related to large language model development, multi-modality, and advanced AI methods in science and robotics. These areas are crucial to the future of AI, and we are excited to see how they will contribute to advancing our AI solutions like GigaChat and Kandinsky.”
Emotional FusionBrain 4.0
Competitors will work on creating multimodal models that integrate video, audio, and text. These models’ ability to understand and process content across different formats will be assessed. Successful approaches may enhance Sber’s Kandinsky and contribute to dataset creation for training generative models.
An extra challenge will involve testing these models in intellectual games video tournaments, which will require them to answer questions and detect deceit among participants.
Multiagent AI
This challenge focuses on leveraging AI for scientific research by developing multi-agent reinforcement learning (RL) systems. Participants will design AI agents capable of solving complex problems through collaborative schemes.
This task highlights the cutting-edge nature of multi-agent systems in fundamental AI model development, which is helpful for complex system modelling and automating experiments.
Embodied AI
This task involves designing a control system for an embodied agent or robot assistant using language instructions and visual data in collaboration with the Sber Robotics Centre. The goal is to create robots that can perform intricate tasks involving interaction with both the environment and users through natural language commands.
Participants will work with accurate data, contributing to advancements in this promising AI trend.
E-com AI Assistant
This task aims to develop an AI assistant based on the GigaChat large language model. The assistant should identify user needs during interactions and recommend relevant products for purchase on Megamarket.
Solutions will be assessed via a dialogue simulator. Successful methods could potentially form the foundation for advanced recommendation services and AI agents tailored to various business sectors.
