Singapore Leads 2024 Global AI Obsession List
UAE Comes In At Third Spot
A new study conducted by Linkee.ai has meticulously analysed the worldwide interest in artificial intelligence (AI), revealing the most AI-obsessed countries in 2024.
The study used data from Google Trends to pinpoint nations exhibiting the highest interest levels in AI and ChatGPT. Additionally, the analysis delved into the search volumes of numerous AI tools, including Adobe AI, ChatGPT, Character AI, Midjourney, and Google Gemini.
Rankings were determined by normalising each country’s search count per 100,000 people.
- Singapore is the nation most fixated on AI. The island nation’s zeal for artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, soared to nearly 19 million searches, surpassing its total population by over threefold.
- Canada follows closely behind, securing the second position in AI obsession. While ChatGPT dominates searches nationwide, with interest spanning the country and exceeding 100 million searches, its population-to-search ratio falls short of Singapore’s.
- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) claims the third spot in AI obsession, displaying a keen interest in utilising the ChatGPT tool. Searches for AI tools surpassed 25 million, with searches for the ChatGPT tool alone exceeding the Gulf country’s population by more than 2.5 times.
- In fourth place is the Philippines, demonstrating a burgeoning enthusiasm for new technologies, particularly in ChatGPT, with searches exceeding its population by more than double.
- Portugal secures the fifth position, showcasing significant interest in AI. Searches for the ChatGPT tool double the population count. Additionally, there is substantial interest in the Character AI tool, a human-like text-generating chatbot that has been searched almost a million times.
- Ireland claims the sixth position on the list, mirroring Portugal’s preferences. ChatGPT is the favoured tool, closely followed by the Character AI tool, which garnered over 700,000 searches in recent months.
- Belgium ranks seventh in AI obsession, with ChatGPT searches nearly doubling its population, while Adobe AI remains the least searched tool.
- Australia secures the eighth spot in AI obsession, with ChatGPT emerging as the preferred tool, dominating searches and surpassing the nation’s population of 26.4 million. Google Bard (now Gemini) ranks as the least searched AI tool compared to ‘ChatGPT,’ which dominates the list.
- The Netherlands claims the ninth position. Dutch citizens are intensely interested in ChatGPT, amassing over 29 million searches, while Character AI also garners popularity with over one million searches.
- Lithuania is rounding out the top ten, with ChatGPT leading the pack. It is closely followed by ‘Character AI,’ which has garnered almost 500,000 searches in recent months. Lithuanians find Gemini the least intriguing among the various AI tools available.
