The Salt Road Doha is ready to welcome guests to experience an award-winning dining concept, cultivated in South Africa. Blending history, culture, and gastronomy, The Salt Road Doha transforms the art of dining into an exploration of flavors and traditions from across the globe. Located on the ground floor of Andaz Doha, now partially open and set to announce its official launch soon, The Salt Road Doha marks a key milestone in the lifestyle hotel’s mission to provide authentic and immersive experiences for its guests by offering a culinary destination boasting succulent wholesome dishes catering to all tastes. Officially open now, The Salt Road Doha is the first of its kind to open outside of South Africa.

Founded by renowned South African chefs, Chef de Cuisine, Calum Anderson with Craig Cormack and Beau du Toit, The Salt Road Doha celebrates salt as a vital ingredient in food preservation and flavor enhancement. From the Mediterranean Sea to the vast Sahara, the concept draws inspiration from the global salt trade, transforming this ancient mineral into the hero of its menu. Diners will explore curated dishes that reflect diverse culinary traditions, with each plate crafted to honor the historical significance of salt in shaping cultures and cuisines worldwide.

Menu

With a focus on sustainable and farm-fresh produce, the restaurant offers a dining experience that is both innovative and deeply rooted in cultural heritage. The offbeat menu features signature dishes with various types of tantalizing salt. Dishes such as a refreshingly sweet Cape Malay Carrot Salad, a Salt Baked Celeriac, paired with fried artichokes and pumpkin gnocchi offering rich and earthy flavors, and a South African Melktert treat for a sweet finish, with  charred pickled stone fruit and burnst cinnamon ice cream.

Open every day from 12:30PM to 11:30PM, The Salt Road Doha invites diners to an unforgettable dining experience starting from QAR 200, right in the heart of Doha. The full menu is available here.
