Ticket sales for Paris 2024 Paralympics surge
Ahead of the Opening Ceremony
One week before the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games (August 28-September 8, 2024) commences, ticket sales have soared beyond 1.75 million. Since the start of the Olympic Games, more than 700,000 tickets have been sold – over 144 countries represented among ticket buyers – and many sessions are nearing total capacity.
Fans still have a chance to witness top-tier Para athletes compete at the same prestigious venues as the Olympics, including the Stade de France, Roland-Garros, and the Paris La Défense Arena.
The top five countries purchasing tickets outside of France are the United Kingdom (27%), Germany (14%), the United States (10%), Belgium (7%), and the Netherlands (5%). French buyers account for 92% of total ticket sales.
A range of tickets remains accessible, starting at €15, allowing fans to enjoy popular Paralympic sports such as Para Athletics, Wheelchair Tennis, Para Swimming, and Wheelchair Basketball. Unique sports like Boccia and Goalball, which have no Olympic counterparts, are also featured.
Tickets are still available for both the opening and closing ceremonies. The opening ceremony, priced from €150, will take place at the historic Place de la Concorde, marking a first for the Paralympics with an outdoor celebration. Starting at €45, the closing ceremony will offer a grand finale at the Stade de France.
High demand
Several events are nearing sell-out status, including Wheelchair Fencing at the Grand Palais, Para Taekwondo, and Blind Football at the Eiffel Tower Stadium. The Paris Centre Discovery Pass and finals in Wheelchair Rugby and Wheelchair Basketball are also fully booked.
Fans are advised to regularly check the official ticketing website, tickets.paris2024.org, and the official resale platform for last-minute availability.
Para Athletics at the Stade de France is in high demand, with 500,000 tickets sold. This is on track to surpass the 530,000 tickets sold for the 2003 World Athletics Championships at the same venue.
The French public can look forward to supporting numerous athletes, including Marie Patouillet in Para Track Cycling, Alex Portal and Ugo Didier in Para Swimming, Pauline Déroulède in Wheelchair Tennis, and Lucas Mazur in Para Badminton. Key events start on August 29 and showcase the nation’s top medal contenders.
The Paris 2024 Paralympics offers high-end hospitality packages for those seeking a premium experience. Before the opening ceremony, guests can enjoy an exclusive outdoor event at the Jardin des Tuileries.
Various hospitality packages, including ‘Lounge’ and ‘Fan Kit’ options, are available for eight Para sports and both ceremonies.
