TuSimple rebrands as CreateAI

Reveals Gen AI breakthrough

TuSimple Holdings, a global leader in artificial intelligence, has rebranded to CreateAI. The shift marks the company’s renewed focus on revolutionising the animation and video game industries using its proprietary AI technologies and integrated content development platform.

The company also revealed significant advancements in generative AI with the launch of its first major AI model, Ruyi.’ Available as open-source on the Hugging Face platform, Ruyi is designed to excel in frame consistency, motion fluency, and colour and composition quality.

This open-source approach underscores CreateAI’s commitment to empowering creators and nurturing a dynamic user community. Developed in under six months, the model draws upon the company’s expertise in autonomous driving technology and lays the foundation for new AI tools tailored explicitly to video game and anime content creation.

Since entering digital entertainment in August 2024, CreateAI has made rapid progress, most notably in developing a AAA Open-World Role-Playing Game (RPG) based on the legendary works of Chinese author Louis Cha.

Titled Heroes of Jin Yong, the game expands on Cha’s intellectual property by integrating characters and stories from across his literary universe, creating a cohesive world of heroes. The game was previewed on December 14, 2024, in Guangzhou, China, where it received considerable fan interest and solidified its place as one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.

“We’re proud of our achievements in such a short time,” said Cheng Lu, President and CEO of CreateAI. “Our integrated approach at the intersection of generative AI and digital entertainment provides significant long-term growth opportunities.”

CreateAI is also moving forward with its ambitious project related to The Three-Body Problem, partnering with renowned Japanese anime designer Shōji Kawamori. This collaboration aims to bring the vast science fiction universe to life through a groundbreaking animated feature and video game that offers unprecedented visual and narrative depth.

Additionally, the company unveiled a new business plan highlighting the commercial potential of its transformation. This plan outlines the challenges it addresses, its technological milestones, and the pathways to commercial success, all supporting the company’s long-term competitive edge in the AI-driven entertainment sector.

CreateAI operates offices in the US, China, and Japan. The company is pioneering the future of digital entertainment by seamlessly blending generative AI with world-class creative talent to deliver immersive, visually stunning experiences to a global audience.
