“WE NEED TO SEE THE WORLD FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE,” SAID MISSING DUBAI-BASED BUSINESSMAN HAMISH HARDING
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 21 June, 2023: Shortly after returning to earth following his spaceflight aboard The New Shepard – Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’s rocket – last September, Dubai-based businessman and adventurer Hamish Harding sat down with AGBI.
In the interview, as well as discussing his private aviation brokerage business, Action Aviation, he also said that adventure and exploration has helped him understand the importance of seeing the world differently.
“This is the only planet we have – at the moment. We really have got to get on better with each other,” Harding said.
“I recently went into space in Blue Origin, a rocket built by Jeff Bezos. One of the things we did while we were up there was spend some good quality time looking out down at earth.
“If everybody had the chance to do this they too could see the world from a different perspective.
“So I’d like to try to get leaders to see that most of the conflict and disagreement really doesn’t matter. Working together, so much more could be achieved.”
The 58-year-old British national and Dubai resident is the Chairman of Action Aviation – a UAE-based business jet brokerage firm.
Titan, the deep-sea submersible he and four other explorers boarded on Sunday to visit the wreck of the RMS Titanic in the North Atlantic, has been missing since contact was lost with the vessel an hour or so after it began its descent to the sea floor.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, said the people of the emirate are praying for the safe and hopeful return home of Harding and his fellow crewmates.
