Weekend Reset in Oman’s Green Mountains – Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa Launches First Wellness Retreat

Nestled 2,000 metres above sea level amidst the dramatic peaks and canyons of Oman’s “Green Mountain”, Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa introduces a weekend wellness retreat from 17-19 April. Limited to just 12 participants, this intimate two-night escape combines canyon-view yoga, sound healing sessions, and complete relaxation in one of the region’s most breathtaking settings. With its crisp climate and expansive views, Jabal Akhdar creates a natural sanctuary for rejuvenation that can’t be replicated in city wellness centres.

Crafted by Jala Spa & Wellness, the retreat is structured across four wellness pillars – physical movement, mental clarity, emotional balance and spiritual connection. As dawn breaks over the rugged landscape, participants awaken with invigorating Canyon View yoga, absorbing the mountain’s energy while the first golden rays illuminate the vast canyons below.  Evenings transition to restorative Yin Yoga, followed by the transcendent vibrations of crystal singing bowl therapy that resonates though body and mind. Between these soul-nourishing sessions, guests savour nutrient-rich, locally-inspired cuisine and immerse themselves in the warmth of heated vitality pools.

Guiding this journey are two exceptional wellness experts – yoga instructor Gabriela Ubidia and Jala’s gifted resident yogi Arora.  Their complementary approaches create a nurturing space where both novices and seasoned practitioners can deepen their practice at their own pace. Perched high above the everyday world, this remote mountain setting offers something increasingly rare – genuine disconnection.  Here, the combination of pristine mountain air, boundless horizon views, and profound silence creates a natural haven for renewal that will linger long after returning to urban rhythms.

The Wellness Retreat package costs OMR 240++ per person (single occupancy) or OMR 320++ for two people (double occupancy) sharing a room, including:

  • Two nights’ accommodation with full board healthy set menu
  • Two morning yoga classes overlooking the canyons
  • Two evening Yin Yoga and sound healing sessions
  • Access to Jala’s vitality pools and spa facilities
  • Early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability
  • Discounts on additional spa treatments and dining

Easily accessible, the resort is just over a 5-hour drive from Dubai, or alternatively, a short 1-hour flight to Muscat followed by a scenic 2-hour drive up the mountains.
