Effective this January
Nokia has announced the appointment of Patrik Hammarén as President of Nokia Technologies, effective January 22, 2025. Hammarén will also join the Nokia Group Leadership Team in this new role.
Nokia Technologies oversees and monetises the company’s intellectual property, including its extensive patent portfolio. This business group is integral in licensing Nokia’s innovations and contributions to global technology standards, collaborating with other companies to ensure widespread adoption and utilisation of its technological advancements.
Hammarén has been with Nokia since 2007 Hammarén has extensive experience within the company. Most recently, he served as acting President of Nokia Technologies from October 2024. Before this, he held several senior positions within the company’s patent licensing business, including Chief Licensing Officer for Wireless Technologies, Vice President and Head of the IoT Licensing Programme, and Head of Patent Licensing for Greater China.
Hammarén’s efforts were key in successfully renewing major smartphone licence agreements and expanding Nokia’s Internet of Things (IoT) licensing programme.
Nokia’s President and CEO, Pekka Lundmark, expressed confidence in Hammarén’s leadership: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Patrik as President of Nokia Technologies.
