Anmax Energy aims to energise Goa – one rooftop solar system at a time

As the future remains bright

Anmak Energy, a rapidly growing solar startup based in Goa, India, is making waves in the home solar space with its innovative, affordable, and customer-centric approach.

Established in 2019, the company has carved a niche by offering high-quality rooftop solar systems, delivered with remarkable speed and at unbeatable prices. With a young and passionate team, Anmax is not just revolutionising the home solar energy sector in Goa but is on track to take its fresh approach across India by ensuring that its solutions are innovative and financially accessible.

Founded by Anant Kochhar, Anmax Energy began as a bold experiment to utilise apps and other cutting-edge information technology to solve the many challenges associated with home solar installations in India.

“Home solar installations are complex logistics problems sensitive to price fluctuations, with costs rising every time there’s a mistake. Effective planning and real-time monitoring are essential to ensure a successful project,” explained Anant Kochhar, Director of Anmax.

Cost-effective approach

The company’s innovative IT-led approach has enabled Anmax to offer rooftop solar systems at a fraction of the cost in Goa’s solar ecosystem.

Madhan, Anmax’s lead architect, explained how the company’s pricing model challenges the conventional solar industry. “Our prices are sometimes so low compared to the nearest competitor that we are tempted to increase them; however, we have chosen to keep them affordable,” he remarked.

This commitment to affordable, sustainable energy solutions is rooted in the company’s ‘environment-first’ ethos, which drives its founders and their energetic, youthful workforce.

The core of Anmax’s philosophy lies in empowering the youth of Goa to contribute positively to the environment. By keeping its prices accessible, Anmax has made solar power more affordable and helped reduce carbon footprints across Goa state.

“We measure our success not just in terms of profits, but also by how much we can reduce the reliance on harmful fossil fuels,” said Shreya, who heads Anmax’s back-office team.

Central to the company’s efficiency is its proprietary in-house software, which allows precise project tracking. This system streamlines operations internally and gives customers real-time visibility of their solar project’s progress.

“We let our clients see the progress of their project live and encourage them to offer feedback. This way, our processes improve with every project,” shared Tashina Singh, Director of Operations at Anmax.

Anmax’s commitment to innovation extends to its customer service and pricing approach. Customers can even customise their home solar systems via an interface on Anmax’s website.

“We do not charge extra for changes made to the project,” Tashina elaborated. This unique level of customisation empowers customers to create solar solutions that best meet their needs and budget.

In addition to solar design and installation, Anmax makes the entire process as seamless as possible for its clients. The company simplifies Indian and Goa government paperwork related to solar installation, including ensuring access to subsidies under the PM Suryaghar and State Solar policies.

Anmax also handles additional paperwork, such as name corrections or sanctioned load increases, sometimes necessary for commissioning solar projects. “We also provide access to easy financing. Through a partnership with a leading PSU bank, we offer 7% loans with no income proof required and low 10-year repayment EMIs,” Anant explained.

New offering

Anmax has launched a new offer called ‘Solar Metal Roofs’ for homeowners in Goa who want to install metal roofs.

Typically, the combined cost of metal roofing and solar installations exceeds Rs520,000 ($5,975/AED21,949) in Goa. However, Anmax is offering a bundled deal for Rs450,000 ($5,171/AED18,991), which includes a Goa government subsidy of Rs186,000 ($2,137/AED7,849). Under the offer, customers can get the metal roof and solar installation for Rs264,000 ($3,033/AED11,144).

According to Anmax, this unique offer ensures the metal roof is well-maintained for years and maximises energy savings from the solar plant. Metal roofing, a traditional Goan roofing solution, is not only a sustainable choice but also a cost-effective one when combined with solar installations, making it an attractive offer for homeowners.

Anmax guarantees its work and offers extended service maintenance contracts. In the rare event that a customer is not fully satisfied, Anmax goes above and beyond to resolve any issues without hesitation, ensuring the best possible experience for their clients and making them feel valued and important.

Innovation is at the heart of Anmax’s operations, and the young company has several firsts to its credit. It was the first company to commission a society common-area solar project in Goa, and it also prototyped India’s first solar-powered EV pickup truck, which can run up to 150km daily on pure solar energy. The pickup truck was showcased at India Energy Week 2024, highlighting Anmax’s pioneering efforts in the renewable energy sector.

Anmax aims to spread its approach to solar energy to the rest of India, by combining sustainable energy solutions with technology-driven customer-centric services.
