Abu Dhabi hosted the second day of the Bridge 2025 Summit on Tuesday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), bringing together global leaders from the media, entertainment, content and sports industries. The event, already recognised as one of the world’s largest gatherings in its field, is setting the stage for a new era where creative sectors play a central role in building a sustainable economy.
The Summit aligns with the UAE’s strategy to strengthen its creative economy ecosystem, at a time when the global media landscape is undergoing rapid transformation. From AI to virtual and augmented reality, and the explosive growth of e-sports, the industry is evolving faster than ever, creating new opportunities for innovation and investment.
A New Vision for Sports Media
The opening day welcomed a strong lineup of international speakers and thought leaders in sports and media. Among them was renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, widely followed for his football transfer insights. Over the coming days, the Summit will also host FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger and former Spanish international Gerard Piqué, known for his pioneering work in modern sports content.
Discussions highlighted how sports media has become both an economic and cultural force thanks to digital platforms, AI-driven analytics, live streaming and immersive technologies. Speakers emphasized the importance of investing in high-quality content and new commercial models that can deliver long-term value, including digital rights, advertising partnerships and fan-driven engagement tools.
AI’s Growing Role in Sports Analytics
Artificial intelligence featured prominently in several sessions, with experts showcasing how AI is reshaping sports analysis, visual content production and real-time fan engagement. These advancements are expanding the marketing potential of the sports industry and unlocking new revenue streams for clubs, brands and media organisations.
E-sports Takes Centre Stage
E-sports remains one of the Summit’s strongest pillars this year. ChinaJoy, Asia’s biggest gaming event, made its debut outside East Asia with a pavilion hosting 19 global game developers. Exhibitors unveiled new platforms, innovative gaming experiences and expanded opportunities for distribution and IP commercialisation.
With the global gaming market expected to surpass USD 200 billion in 2025, sessions explored metaverse development, digital sports, and emerging business models for one of the world’s fastest-growing sectors.
A Global Gathering of Talent and Ideas
Bridge 2025 spans more than 1.65 million square feet and covers seven key tracks: media, technology, content, music, marketing, e-sports and the creative industries. Organisers expect more than 60,000 participants from 132 countries, including 430 speakers, 1,200 senior executives and over 300 exhibitors.
Across three days, attendees are taking part in more than 300 panels, workshops and networking forums, providing a platform for creators, investors and industry leaders to collaborate, exchange insights and explore new partnerships.
Strong Digital Engagement
One day before the Summit opened, the BRIDGE application saw significant activity, recording 14,618 exchanged messages, 425,000 searches, more than 2 million interactions, 7,000 connections and 871 pre-scheduled meetings.
A Look Back at the Evolution of Communication
The opening ceremony featured a short film tracing the history of human communication, from ancient symbols and early writing systems to the printing press, cinema, radio and television. The narrative ended with the first electronic message sent between two computers in 1969, marking the beginning of the digital age. The film also touched on modern challenges, including misinformation, AI disruption and the rise of virtual ecosystems.
Expanding the Media Content Landscape
Insights shared during the Summit highlighted significant shifts in content creation. Speakers noted that gaming now rivals cinema and television combined, 67 percent of content creators use AI tools, and global content partnerships have grown by 340 percent in the past three years.
What to Expect from Bridge 2025
