Abu Dhabi Police arrest 375 for spreading misleading content online

Authorities have arrested 375 individuals of different nationalities for allegedly filming incidents and circulating misleading information on social media linked to ongoing events, Abu Dhabi Police confirmed.

According to officials, the suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution, where legal proceedings will be carried out in line with UAE laws governing public safety and information sharing.

Police emphasized that spreading false or unverified content, especially during sensitive situations, is a serious offence that can threaten public security and social stability. The force reiterated its ongoing efforts to maintain safety across the emirate in coordination with relevant authorities.

Despite repeated warnings, some individuals were found to have ignored official guidelines. Authorities made it clear that any actions aimed at causing panic or influencing public opinion through misinformation will not be tolerated and will face strict legal consequences.

Residents have been urged to verify information before sharing, rely only on official sources, and avoid spreading rumours or unconfirmed reports online.
