UAE Temperatures Climb to 47°C as Humidity Increases Fog Risk Early Next Week

The UAE is set to experience hot summer conditions with temperatures reaching as high as 47°C inland, while rising humidity is expected to increase the likelihood of fog and mist across some coastal and inland areas during the early hours of next week.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), Thursday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, particularly over the northern and eastern regions. The conditions are being influenced by a weak surface low-pressure system extending from the east, combined with a weak upper-air low-pressure system.

Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds are forecast, with occasional fresh gusts. Wind speeds could reach up to 40 km/h along western coastal areas, 35 km/h inland, and 30 km/h over mountainous regions. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf will be slight to moderate but may become rough at times in western waters, while the Oman Sea is expected to remain slight.

Temperatures are forecast to range between 35°C and 41°C along coastal areas and islands, 41°C to 47°C inland, and 31°C to 37°C in mountainous regions. Overnight minimum temperatures are expected to range from 24°C to 32°C, depending on the location.

The weather outlook for Friday and Saturday indicates similar conditions, with fair to partly cloudy skies across most of the country. Humidity levels are expected to increase during the night and early morning over coastal areas, while winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally strengthening to around 35 km/h. Sea conditions are expected to stay slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Looking ahead to Sunday and Monday, the NCM forecasts higher humidity extending into some inland areas, increasing the possibility of fog or mist formation during the early morning hours.

Daytime conditions are expected to remain generally fair, with occasional cloud development over eastern regions. Northwesterly winds will continue at 10–20 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 30 km/h, while sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
