AL MASAOOD POWER HIGHLIGHTS ITS ROLE IN SUPPORTING THE UAE’S DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE AT DCD CONNECT MENA 2026

  • Division highlights its 316 MW backup power scope for a major UAE hyperscale data centre project, powered by mtu technology.
  • Local engineering, lifecycle services and Emirati talent development underpin its long-term contribution to the UAE’s growing data centre sector.

Abu Dhabi, 27 October 2026: Al Masaood Power Division, part of Al Masaood Group, will participate in DCD Connect MENA 2026, taking place on 26–27 October at Grand Hyatt Dubai, highlighting its integrated power solutions and technical capabilities supporting the UAE’s expanding data centre sector. The Division will highlight how it combines global power technology, local engineering and lifecycle services with investment in Emirati talent to support reliable and resilient digital infrastructure over the long term.

As artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and hyperscale data centres drive growing demand for digital infrastructure, the need for dependable backup power and ongoing technical support continues to increase. Beyond power generation capacity, developers and operators require the engineering expertise, maintenance capabilities and technical support needed to maintain operational continuity and ensure the long-term performance of critical infrastructure.

Reflecting these growing requirements, Al Masaood Power Division is supporting a major hyperscale data centre development in the UAE with a 316 MW backup power scope powered by mtu, a Rolls-Royce Solutions brand. As the Division’s largest data centre undertaking to date, the project demonstrates its involvement in large-scale digital infrastructure, where dependable backup power is essential to maintaining operational continuity.

Beyond equipment supply, Al Masaood Power Division combines mtu technology with established local engineering and after-sales capabilities in the UAE. These include technical support, genuine spare parts, specialised maintenance and lifecycle services, providing data centre operators with the local expertise and ongoing support needed to maintain equipment readiness, reduce operational risks and sustain the performance of critical power systems.

Rasso Bartenschlager, General Manager of Al Masaood Power, said: “As data centres grow in scale and complexity, delivering reliable power infrastructure is only part of the responsibility. Equally important is having the technical expertise and local service capabilities to maintain these systems throughout their operational life. At Al Masaood Power, we bring together mtu technology, local engineering and continued investment in Emirati talent to address these evolving requirements. Our participation in DCD Connect MENA provides an opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders on these priorities, while reinforcing the importance of developing local expertise and transferring specialised knowledge to support the UAE’s digital infrastructure over the long term.”

This commitment to developing local expertise is reflected in the Division’s two-year Mechatronics Apprenticeship Programme, which equips young Emirati professionals with technical knowledge and hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical and electronic systems. Through practical training and knowledge transfer, the programme helps develop the skills required to maintain advanced power systems and mission-critical infrastructure.

At DCD Connect MENA 2026, Al Masaood Power Division will engage with data centre developers, operators, consultants and technology providers on the evolving power requirements of hyperscale facilities and the engineering and service capabilities needed to support their long-term performance.
