27 October 2026- The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) staged the EGF Junior Trophy 2026 from 23 to 25 October at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club, supported by the UAE Committee for Talent and Sports Support (UAETSS), reinforcing their shared commitment to developing young sporting talent and expanding competitive opportunities in the UAE.
The championship welcomed junior golfers of all nationalities across three age divisions: 17 & Under, 15 & Under and 13 & Under, and concluded with a closing ceremony and the presentation of awards to the leading competitors across the respective divisions, in the presence of many sports sector officials.
Over three days, participants competed in an environment designed to test their abilities, encourage sporting excellence and provide valuable experience at a key stage of their development. The collaboration reflects a broader approach to youth sports development in the UAE, bringing together the Federation’s expertise in golf and the Committee’s focus on identifying and supporting promising athletes.
H.E. Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Development and Competitiveness at the Ministry of Sports, Chairman of the UAETSS, said: “The EGF Junior Trophy 2026 represents an important platform for identifying promising sporting talent by providing junior golfers across the UAE with opportunities to gain experience and develop their skills in an encouraging sporting environment characterised by a high level of competitiveness. This helps strengthen their development pathways and lay the foundations for sporting excellence from an early age, in line with the Ministry’s strategic directions and the Committee’s plans to advance sports development in the UAE”.
H.E. Sheikh Suhail commended the Federation’s role in supporting the nurturing of young talents across the UAE, contributing to expanding the base of golf participation and producing a new generation of players capable of competing at major sporting events. These efforts will help take sports in the UAE to new levels of excellence and achievement.
“Every opportunity for young golfers to compete is an investment in the future of our sport. The EGF Junior Trophy is about more than results; it is about giving players the experience, confidence and competitive foundation they need to progress. With the support of the UAE Committee for Talent and Sports Support, we are committed to creating more opportunities for young talent to develop and realise their potential.” Major General Abdullah Al Sayed Al Hashemi.
The championship was held at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club, home to an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Nicklaus Design. Situated within Ajman’s distinctive coastal mangrove landscape, the venue presented players with a championship-level setting that combines challenging course conditions with the region’s natural surroundings.
