The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has launched a community-focused initiative aimed at encouraging residents, particularly children, to play an active role in preserving the emirate’s urban landscape and public spaces.

The ‘Little Inspector’ programme was rolled out across multiple locations, engaging school students, families and community members through a series of interactive and educational activities designed to promote civic responsibility and environmental awareness.

At Khalifa City Square, students participated in hands-on sessions that highlighted the importance of maintaining the city’s visual appeal while fostering a sense of accountability towards public spaces. Similar activities were held in Rabdan, where the focus was on reducing visual pollution and reinforcing the role of community cooperation in protecting the environment and public facilities.

In Shakhbout City Square, the initiative emphasised cleanliness and teamwork, with family-friendly activities encouraging children to take responsibility for their surroundings. The programme also extended to Zayed City, targeting both parents and children to strengthen awareness of responsible behaviour and the importance of preserving shared spaces.

Meanwhile, at Al Taanus Park in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, participants took part in interactive workshops designed to enhance understanding of environmental practices, proper use of public amenities, and observation skills through engaging learning experiences.

The Municipality said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to community engagement, adding that similar programmes will continue throughout the year to help build a generation that values and actively contributes to maintaining Abu Dhabi’s urban environment.
