Abu Dhabi Police have stopped five motorists for committing a series of traffic violations that posed risks to other road users. The offences included overtaking on the emergency shoulder, failing to keep a safe distance, drifting between lanes, and overtaking from the right.
The force reminded drivers that sudden stops without warning can lead to severe accidents and stressed that overtaking should only be done from the left. Officials also reiterated that the road shoulder is strictly reserved for emergency use, allowing ambulances and rescue teams to reach accident sites without delay.
Police further warned against reckless lane-changing and rapid swerving without signalling, noting that such behaviour remains one of the leading causes of road incidents.
In a related update, Dubai Police reported on November 21 that 210 motorcycles and e-scooters were seized for reckless driving.
