The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has marked World Investor Week 2026 with an opening bell-ringing ceremony and the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the University of Europe (UE) for Applied Sciences’ Dubai campus, reinforcing its focus on financial education and investor awareness.
As a multi-asset exchange, ADX is supporting the 10th edition of World Investor Week, a global initiative organised by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and supported by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE).
Running from October 5 to 11, the campaign aims to strengthen financial literacy, promote responsible investing and enhance investor protection across more than 100 jurisdictions worldwide.
The agreement between ADX and the University of Europe for Applied Sciences is intended to support financial inclusion while helping make investment knowledge and wealth-generation opportunities more accessible to younger generations.
The MoU was signed by Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADX Group, and Prof. Dr. Maurits Van Rooijen, President of the University of Europe for Applied Sciences.
Alnuaimi said that as digital transformation continues to reshape financial markets, providing the next generation of investors with strong financial and digital literacy has become increasingly important for long-term economic resilience.
He said the partnership will help bring practical market knowledge, analytical tools and investment concepts into the classroom, enabling students to better assess risks and identify potential growth opportunities.
Alnuaimi added that developing a new generation of informed investors will support the continued growth of Abu Dhabi’s capital markets, contribute to the emirate’s Economic Vision 2030 and strengthen its position as a leading global financial hub.
Prof. Dr. Maurits Van Rooijen said universities have a responsibility to connect academic knowledge with the economic and societal challenges shaping the world.
He noted that artificial intelligence and increasing global complexity are transforming financial markets, adding that the partnership with ADX will connect academic expertise with real-world market experience.
The collaboration is also expected to create opportunities for applied research and innovation while preparing students to contribute to the future development of the financial sector.
