Dubai, UAE — April 2026 — The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi has confirmed that investing in human capital is the essential foundation for building a future-ready, AI-driven government.
According to the Emirates News Agency, Abdullah Al Shammari, executive director of the national workforce enablement sector, explained that the department is strengthening the national talent ecosystem through the Mawaheb Talent Hub, an integrated model that goes beyond traditional recruitment by upskilling national cadres for future demands and creating high-quality career opportunities through strategic partnerships with major institutions.
The hub has rolled out several specialised programmes to close labour market gaps, offer career guidance, and support remote work in collaboration with industry leaders such as G42.
Through initiatives like open employment days, Mawaheb connects job seekers across all educational levels with both public and private sectors. In 2025 alone, the hub trained more than 10,000 job seekers and facilitated over 6,000 placements, while regional expansion into Al Ain and Al Dhafra resulted in 17 memorandums of understanding and 3,000 new job opportunities.
Al Shammari emphasised that strategic partnerships are vital to the success of these efforts.
By cooperating with academic bodies and major institutions such as ADGM Academy, Khalifa University, ACTVET, and CERT, as well as national and global companies including ADNOC, Mubadala, Emirates Global Aluminium, and e&, the hub effectively links national talent to genuine career prospects in key sectors.
To enhance global competitiveness, Mawaheb also partners with international firms like Microsoft, Binance, and LinkedIn to deliver advanced training in digital services and artificial intelligence.
The department is now developing an AI-powered platform to analyse skill gaps and direct talent into critical industries.
By 2027, DGE plans to launch more than ten advanced applications, supporting the UAE Centennial 2071 vision and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global centre for talent and innovation.
