AD Ports Group partners with IRH Global Trading to explore marine fuel bunkering cooperation at Khalifa Port

Dubai, UAE — June 2026 — AD Ports Group has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with IRH Global Trading Limited to explore strategic cooperation opportunities in ship bunkering services and to support the use of alternative marine fuels at Khalifa Port.

According to the Emirates News Agency, the MoU outlines potential areas of cooperation, including bunkering services for vessels berthed at Khalifa Port, the development of alternative fuel solutions such as liquefied natural gas, biofuels and methanol, as well as studying opportunities related to fuel storage infrastructure, terminal facilities, and fuel sampling and testing capabilities.

Saif Al Mazrouei, Chief Executive Officer of the Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group, said the cooperation reflects a firm commitment to forging strategic alliances capable of delivering sustainable long-term value.

He added that working with trusted partners such as IRH helps strengthen the group’s capabilities and supports the development of future infrastructure and services that reinforce the UAE’s position as a leading global hub for trade and logistics, in line with the vision of the country’s leadership.

For his part, Ali Rashid Al Rashdi, Chief Executive Officer of IRH, said the cooperation with AD Ports Group is part of the company’s efforts to build strategic partnerships that generate tangible economic impact on the ground.

He noted that as IRH continues to build out its global energy trading platform, bunkering services and alternative marine fuel solutions represent a promising area for growth and expansion.

He added that Khalifa Port serves as an ideal base for the company to explore these opportunities, expressing his anticipation for close cooperation with the group to turn these visions into practical projects and initiatives.

The cooperation between AD Ports Group and IRH Global Trading aims to enhance the added value offered by Khalifa Port as a multi-purpose, deep-water port that supports efficient, sustainable and future-ready maritime operations.

IRH Global Trading is described as a global strategic commodities trading company whose interests span the value chain of the mining and energy sectors. The company plans to build a diversified global platform for trading minerals and energy, including liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, crude oil and petroleum products.

The cooperation will also examine the potential to leverage IRH’s international trading capabilities alongside AD Ports Group’s integrated, world-class infrastructure and ecosystem.
