Air India Overhauls Its Inflight Entertainment Offering

$400 Million Investment Confirmed

Air India has set a new inflight entertainment (IFE) standard by introducing an extensive and diverse content library. This promises an unparalleled experience for passengers on its long-haul flights.

The unveiling of this cutting-edge IFE system, a first in the industry, marks a milestone for Air India. It showcases over 2,200 hours of entertainment content across various formats and genres, offering a unique and immersive experience to the passengers.

This comprehensive suite includes 1,000 hours of movies, 600 hours of TV shows, and an additional 600 hours of audio content, all tailored to meet the discerning preferences of modern travellers.

Available on Air India’s A350, newly inducted B777-200LR, and forthcoming widebody aircraft, this immersive entertainment experience is poised to redefine passengers’ inflight journeys.

Furthermore, Air India is embarking on a significant retrofit programme, a testament to our commitment to passenger satisfaction. With a substantial $400 million investment, this program will equip our legacy widebody fleet with the state-of-the-art IFE system and expanded content offerings, ensuring our passengers always have the best inflight experience.

New Era

The breadth of content available on Air India’s IFE system is staggering, catering to a diverse range of interests. From Bollywood classics to Hollywood blockbusters, from captivating documentaries to the all-new Air India Radio, there’s something for everyone.

Air India passengers can access a vast library of Indian movies, including timeless favourites like ‘Sholay’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,’ and contemporary hits like ‘Kantara’ and ‘Drishyam 2.’

With over 250 Indian movies spanning decades and genres, Air India now offers the most exclusive collection of Indian content in the skies.

The airline offers 200 movies for Hollywood enthusiasts, including award-winning titles and the latest releases.

Passengers can indulge in a cinematic extravaganza, from BAFTA and Oscar-winning productions to nominees such as ‘Barbie’ and ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One.’

Cinematic Repertoire

Moreover, Air India’s global cinematic repertoire spans 14 languages and features critically acclaimed films worldwide.

The IFE system does not stop at movies. With over 900 episodes of Western, Indian, and International TV shows and digital content spanning diverse genres, passengers can enjoy extensive entertainment options.

Additionally, including content from leading streaming platforms ensures a seamless and enriching viewing experience.

Air India Radio is a standout feature of the revamped IFE system. It offers insightful podcasts, a vast music collection, and curated playlists to suit every mood.

 From pop to rock, classical to Bollywood, the music selection caters to diverse tastes, ensuring a delightful auditory journey for passengers.

Young flyers are not left behind, with the Kids Zone offering over 55 hours of curated audio and video content divided into age-appropriate sections.

Arc, a new 3D moving map system, adds to the immersive experience. It allows passengers to explore the world’s geography, read city guides, and access real-time flight data.

The state-of-the-art viewing experience aboard Air India’s A350 aircraft features full-HD touchscreens, ensuring a crisp and engaging interface for passengers.

Business class passengers are treated to premium noise-cancelling headsets, while economy class passengers receive eco-friendly reusable earphones.
