Ajman Police have opened a new nursery for the children of female inmates at the Punitive and Correctional Institution, introducing an initiative focused on support, care and rehabilitation.
The facility was inaugurated by Brigadier General Khalid Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, alongside Colonel Mohammad Mubarak Al Ghafli and several senior officers. During the visit, officials highlighted how the nursery is designed to give young children a safe and nurturing environment while easing the emotional burden on their mothers.
Brig Al Nuaimi said the project reflects Ajman Police’s commitment to strengthening its humanitarian services and ensuring families remain supported, even in challenging circumstances. He noted that the initiative aligns with the UAE’s values of compassion and social responsibility.
The nursery features modern play areas, recreational corners and on-site healthcare services. Officials said these amenities are tailored to meet the emotional and developmental needs of children, helping them grow in a setting that feels separate from the correctional environment.
Ajman Police confirmed that more social and humanitarian programmes will continue to roll out, supporting the UAE’s wider goal of rehabilitation, reintegration and protecting the dignity of every individual.
