Aldar and Arada have announced a strategic partnership covering major development opportunities on Yas Island and at Seih Sdeirah in Abu Dhabi, with a combined value of approximately AED15 billion.
The partnership includes a joint venture to develop a large-scale mixed-use community at Seih Sdeirah, located near the Abu Dhabi-Dubai border, as well as Arada’s acquisition of three residential development plots on Yas Island.
The agreements mark Arada’s first entry into Abu Dhabi’s property development market and bring together Aldar’s established development platform, land portfolio and market presence with Arada’s experience in delivering large-scale residential communities.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, Executive Vice Chairman of Arada, and Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Aldar.
Jonathan Emery, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Development, and Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Arada, signed the agreements.
Talal Al Dhiyebi said the partnership brings together two major UAE developers with complementary capabilities and a shared focus on creating high-quality destinations.
He added that the opportunities on Yas Island and at Seih Sdeirah provide a strong foundation for future cooperation, with potential to expand the partnership across additional sectors and locations in the UAE.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi said Aldar’s scale, vision and established platform in Abu Dhabi provide a strong base for Arada’s expansion into the emirate.
He said the companies see significant opportunities for further collaboration in Abu Dhabi and across the wider UAE.
At Seih Sdeirah, Aldar and Arada will jointly develop a mixed-use community covering up to 1.5 million square metres of land.
The development is expected to feature villas and townhouses alongside retail and recreational facilities. Arada will lead development and construction management, while both companies will jointly brand and market the community.
On Yas Island, Arada has acquired three development plots from Aldar for new residential projects.
The plots, including two canal-facing sites, have a combined area of more than 27,500 square metres and a total gross floor area of nearly 130,000 square metres.
Arada plans to develop premium residential communities across the sites, marking its first development projects in Abu Dhabi and contributing to the continued expansion of Yas Island’s residential offering.
The Yas Island and Seih Sdeirah projects represent the first phase of the partnership, with Aldar and Arada planning to explore further opportunities across different sectors, asset classes and locations throughout the UAE.
