Aster Hospital Al Qusais Launches Dedicated Breast Clinic to Provide Comprehensive, Coordinated Breast Care

Aster Hospital Al Qusais has launched a dedicated Breast Clinic, bringing together multidisciplinary clinical expertise and coordinated patient support to provide women with comprehensive care across their breast health journey. The clinic officially opened on 1st October 2026, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The dedicated service provides a coordinated pathway covering breast screening and assessment, diagnosis, treatment, reconstruction and recovery, while also supporting women with benign and high-risk breast conditions. By bringing relevant specialists together under one service, the clinic aims to simplify the patient journey and provide personalised care based on each woman’s individual needs.

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in the UAE. According to the UAE National Cancer Registry Annual Report 2023 from the Ministry of Health and Prevention, breast cancer accounted for 36.6% of invasive cancer cases among females in the UAE, with 1,445 female cases recorded in 2023.[1]

Commenting on the launch, Dr. Sherbaz Bichu – Group Chief Operating Officer-GCC, Aster DM Healthcare, said “Early detection remains one of the most important factors in improving breast health outcomes. With the launch of our dedicated Breast Clinic, we are providing women with seamless access to experienced female breast specialist surgeons, advanced diagnostics, and coordinated multidisciplinary care under one roof. By simplifying access to expert assessment and precision diagnosis, we aim to deliver earlier intervention, greater peace of mind, and better outcomes for every patient.”

The clinic’s multidisciplinary team comprises specialists across general surgery, medical oncology, surgical oncology, plastic and reconstructive surgery and radiology, enabling patients to access relevant expertise based on their clinical needs.

The clinical team includes Dr. Hafsa Salim Daber, Specialist General & Laparoscopic Surgery; Dr. Pranab Karipody Prabhakaran, Consultant Medical Oncology; Dr. Afsal Muhammed, Specialist Surgical Oncology; Dr. Narayan Ganapati Hegde, Consultant Plastic Surgery; Dr. Senthilkumar Ramasamy, Specialist Plastic Surgery; Dr. Donald Luke Mathew, Specialist Radiology; Dr. Sreekutty Sarasamma, Specialist Radiology; Dr. Namitha Kalathil, Specialist Radiology; and Dr. Athira Puthiyedath, Specialist Radiology, supported by a dedicated Breast Care Nurse and Concierge Services.

Explaining the clinical approach, Dr. Hafsa Salim Daber, Specialist General & Laparoscopic Surgery, Aster Hospital Al Qusais, said “Breast health needs can vary considerably from one patient to another, making timely assessment and coordinated care important. By bringing relevant specialties together, the clinic supports patients through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, reconstruction and recovery. It also provides care for benign and high-risk breast conditions, helping women receive appropriate support based on their individual needs.”

The Breast Clinic’s scope includes access to mammography through a partner imaging facility, alongside breast ultrasound, MRI and biopsy services, as well as the management of benign and high-risk breast conditions, breast cancer surgery and oncology, breast reconstruction, nutrition, rehabilitation and supportive care.

The clinic follows a coordinated patient pathway beginning with consultation and clinical assessment. Where indicated, patients can undergo appropriate imaging and biopsy, after which the relevant specialists can be involved based on the diagnosis and individual care requirements. This multidisciplinary approach enables coordination across surgery, oncology, radiology, reconstruction and supportive care.

Beyond clinical expertise, the clinic has a dedicated Breast Care Nurse to provide clinical support throughout the patient journey. The nurse helps patients understand their care plan and clinical instructions, provides education and support during treatment and recovery, liaises with the treating team regarding concerns and follow-up, and helps coordinate care between consultations, investigations and other services.

The Concierge Services team provides administrative support, assisting with appointment bookings and coordination, guiding patients through hospital processes and service locations, and helping facilitate a smoother journey between consultations and other services.

Beyond clinical care, Aster also recognises the importance of emotional and community support for people affected by cancer. Through COSMOS, Aster Volunteers’ cancer support community programme, patients and their families can access emotional support, companionship and a compassionate network throughout their journey.

The launch of the Breast Clinic also reinforces the importance of breast health awareness and timely medical assessment. Women are encouraged to be familiar with their breasts and seek medical advice if they notice changes or have concerns. Appropriate screening and clinical assessment can help identify conditions at an earlier stage and support timely management.

Located on the first floor of Aster Hospital Al Qusais, Dubai, the dedicated Breast Clinic provides women with access to a multidisciplinary team and coordinated support within one care pathway, from screening and assessment through treatment and recovery.
