Audi Unveils Electrified Portfolio At Auto China 2024
Automaker Is Committed To Chinese Market
Audi is set to captivate audiences at the 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (also known as Auto China 2024) in Beijing with its strategic vision and electrified portfolio tailored for the Chinese market.
As the world’s largest automotive market, China holds immense significance for Audi, evident in the unveiling of new market-specific models and the strategic insights shared by Gernot Döllner, Audi’s CEO.
At the heart of Audi’s presentation is the global debut of the Audi Q6L e-tron, a flagship model that is set to revolutionise electric mobility.
This significant unveiling, produced at the new Audi FAW NEV Company factory in Changchun, China, underscores Audi’s dedication to local production and meeting the evolving demands of Chinese consumers.
Auto China takes place from April 25 to May 4, 2024, at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China.
Döllner and representatives from Audi’s Chinese partners FAW and SAIC will outline the brand’s roadmap for electric transformation at the Volkswagen Group Night and Audi press conferences at Auto China 2024.
The Audi booth at Auto China 2024 will showcase fully electric models, a testament to the company’s commitment to meeting China’s surging demand for new energy vehicles.
Q6L E-Tron And Q5 E-Tron RS
Among the highly anticipated premieres are the Audi Q6L e-tron and the Q5 e-tron RS edition, both meticulously crafted for the Chinese market.
Additionally, the SQ6 will debut in the country, further solidifying Audi’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
Reaffirming Audi’s strategic focus on the Chinese market, CEO Gernot Döllner said: “The Chinese market is pivotal to Audi’s transformation into a leading global provider of premium electric mobility.”
He underscored the importance of localising key models as part of Audi’s “in China for China” strategy, ensuring that offerings are tailored to meet the unique preferences of Chinese consumers.
The introduction of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform in China marks a significant milestone for Audi, with production of PPE-based models set to commence before the end of 2024.
Changchun Facility
The Audi FAW NEV Company factory in Changchun represents a state-of-the-art facility dedicated exclusively to manufacturing all-electric Audi vehicles for the Chinese market, setting new standards in digitalisation, efficiency, and sustainability.
Audi’s electrification strategy in China extends beyond manufacturing, encompassing a diverse portfolio of battery-electric models designed to cater to a broad customer base.
