Bahrain King Orders Passport Renewal for Citizens Stripped of Kuwaiti Nationality

Bahraini citizens who recently had their Kuwaiti nationality revoked will now be able to travel freely after His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ordered the renewal of their Bahraini passports.

According to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the royal directive ensures that all affected citizens regain essential rights tied to identification and international mobility. The move comes as part of King Hamad’s continued efforts to safeguard the welfare of Bahraini nationals and strengthen social stability.

Protecting Rights and Freedoms

Officials stressed that the renewed passports will allow citizens to exercise their basic rights, including access to services and freedom of movement. The government highlighted that the decision reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting individuals caught in complex citizenship issues, ensuring they are not left vulnerable or stateless.

Emphasis on Family Unity

The royal directive also underlines King Hamad’s dedication to preserving family cohesion. Authorities noted that the order provides reassurance to families impacted by the revocation of Kuwaiti nationality, helping them maintain stability during an uncertain period.

A Humanitarian Step

The government reaffirmed that this initiative is rooted in humanitarian values and reflects the Kingdom’s longstanding tradition of prioritising the dignity and rights of its citizens. It also demonstrates Bahrain’s proactive approach in addressing sensitive cross-border citizenship matters.

With the issuance of new Bahraini passports, affected citizens can now travel, access official services, and continue their lives without disruption.

The move has been welcomed domestically as a clear signal of the King’s commitment to social cohesion and the protection of Bahraini families facing legal and social challenges.
