The city’s summer entertainment season is closing with a bang as Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2025 rolls out the final stretch of star-studded concerts and side-splitting comedy shows, taking over leading venues across the city until 31 August. Featuring international icons, regional chart-toppers, and comedy heavyweights, tickets are now on sale for these must-see events of the season, promising to thrill, captivate, and leave audiences wanting more.
Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), DSS 2025 has a seat waiting for everyone whether a music fan, theatre-goer, or comedy lover.
FESTIVAL FAVOURITES
The incredibly popular DSS-debut edition of Gahwa Beats wraps up the last coffee pop-up of the season with a spectacular free-to-enter finale at Deep Dive Dubai on 23 August. With DJ Swanahh on the decks, this is where coffee culture meets underwater adventure. Sip on rich coffee, vibe to live DJ sets, and dance in a surreal sunken city beneath the surface – all in one incredible adventure. Free entry; simply register on the Deep Dive Dubai website.
POWERHOUSE VOCALS
On 23 August, Dubai Opera welcomes Natalie Imbruglia for an intimate one-night-only concert featuring beloved hits from her award-winning career. That same evening on 23 August, Tango & Keys lights up Zabeel Theatre in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray with spectacular South American dance and music for one night only. Grammy-winning artist Macy Gray takes over Coca-Cola Arena on 29 August, performing her global hits in a high-energy live show. On 29 and 30 August, Red Carpet debuts at Dubai Opera with a unique Arabic stage production where performers face a live judging panel and audiences are encouraged to vote for their favourites in a colourful music and dance-filled play.
Summer Nights: Ramy Sabry and Maha Ftouni Live lights up Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre on 30 August with an unforgettable evening of live entertainment, featuring chart-topping songs, emotional ballads and dynamic performances. A historic celebration of soulful music takes over Coca-Cola Arena on 30 August as Legacy of the Khans sees the legendary Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan share the stage for the first time with his son, rising star Shazman Ali Khan. 30 August also sees Pakistani rap duo Young Stunners Live in Concert at The Agenda, Dubai Media City, bringing their signature style, powerful lyrics, and unmatched presence to the spotlight.
Marking an epic finale to DSS 2025, Arabic comedians Saleh El Nawawy and Jantee Shaaban bring an unfiltered night of quick-fire comedy to Zabeel Theatre in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on 31 August – with the chance for audiences to anonymously submit questions and scenarios live during the show. Hearts in Harmony features a farewell performance of the legendary ghazal maestro Ustad Ghulam Ali, joined on the Dubai Opera stage by his son Aamir Ghulam Ali and grandson Nazir Ghulam Ali.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE LITTLE ONES
Families can enjoy a month-long run of live theatre for the little ones at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice in Wonderland on 21 and 23 August, or set sail for laughs in Treasure Island on 22 and 24 August. Dive into The Little Mermaid on 26 and 28 August, or enjoy the Aladdin pantomime for the grand finale on 27 August. Watch The Mansour Show bring the UAE’s beloved animated hero come to life for the first time ever in Dubai in an action-packed stage spectacular from 29 to 31 August, hosted twice everyday – at 11am in English and 3pm in Arabic.
LAUGH-OUT-LOUD LINE-UP
Comedy fans are in for a treat as DSS brings a fresh wave of laugh-out-loud shows. The Laughter Factory concludes its monthly showcase of world-class stand-up from Dimitri Bakanov, Ash Rose, and Noha Bashir on 22 August at Radisson Hotel DAMAC Hills and on 23 August at Dukes, The Palm.
Adding to the fun, DSS also shines a spotlight on a new wave of emerging Indian comedians. Ladies Aadmi ft. Vivek Samatani Live brings sharp observational humour to The Junction on 24 August, while Amit Tandon delivers his crowd-favourite sets to Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School on 29 August. Lastly, Gaurav Gupta delivers two back-to-back sets of his signature Hindi storytelling at the Dubai College Auditorium on 30 August.
