BYD Produces Its 7 Millionth New Energy Vehicle

BYD, a global leader in new energy vehicles (NEVs) and power batteries, celebrated the production of its seven millionth NEV, the Denza N7, on March 25, 2024, at the company’s Jinan factory in China, setting a new record in the automotive industry.
The journey to this milestone began in May 2021, when BYD manufactured its one-millionth NEV.
The company tripled this output within 18 months and then surged past five million units in an additional nine months.
BYD’s rapid progress to the seven-million mark, achieved in only seven months from the last milestone, underscores its efficient supply chain and the benefits of large-scale NEV production in China.
Global Leader
In 2023, BYD, a Fortune Global 500 company, solidified its leadership position with an impressive 3.02 million units in cumulative annual NEV sales, leading the global NEV market.
BYD’s array of models has consistently dominated sales charts across various categories, thanks to the brand’s extensive portfolio.
In its quest for global expansion, BYD made significant inroads into the international market in 2023, including increasing its footprint in the Middle East region.
The company’s overseas sales of new energy passenger cars witnessed a staggering 337% year-on-year increase, topping 240,000 units and crowning it as the leading Chinese NEV exporter for 2023.
BYD’s NEVs are available in 64 countries and regions worldwide, bolstered by strategic manufacturing investments in Thailand, Brazil, Uzbekistan, and Hungary.
This year, BYD is the official partner of the UEFA European Football Championship 2024, further elevating its global brand presence.
