Airline to launch A380 flights on Abu Dhabi-Toronto route

From June 24, 2025

Etihad Airways has unveiled plans to introduce an Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi-Toronto route starting June 24, 2025. The move is expected to cater to leisure and business travellers, providing additional capacity for a growing market.

The airline will operate its A380 between Zayed Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

The strategic decision to deploy an A380 on the Toronto route addresses rising demand for Etihad’s services in Canada, a market that has proven popular among the airline’s customers.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, commented: “We are thrilled to introduce the A380 to the Canadian market. Our guests consistently rave about the onboard experience, whether flying in Economy, Business, First Class, or the unrivalled three-room suite, The Residence. This deployment will give passengers the comfort and space to arrive in Toronto refreshed and ready to explore or do business.”

De added: “By increasing capacity on the Toronto route, we’re enhancing connections for travellers from the GCC and Indian subcontinent while offering Canadian guests more ways to experience the vibrant city of Abu Dhabi.”

The new service is expected to allow passengers to visit Abu Dhabi as a stopover or a destination. Etihad’s Abu Dhabi Stopover programme strengthens this by offering the airline’s passengers the chance to extend their layovers with up to two complimentary nights at premium hotels in Abu Dhabi, adding even more appeal to the route.

To mark the launch, Etihad Airways offers a special sale. One-way fares to Abu Dhabi in Economy Class start at C$880, with Business Class from C$2,380, and First Class from C$8,380. Return fares start at C$1,380 in Economy, C$3,380 in Business, and C$10,380 in

Onboard Etihad’s A380, every class offers an elevated experience.

In Economy Class, passengers can enjoy extra legroom seats, four additional inches of space, and 337 Economy Smart seats, all designed for maximum comfort. The cabin features Etihad’s signature fixed-wing headrests and large pillows for relaxation.

For those in Business Class, the upper deck offers the exclusive Business Studios, providing 70 private spaces for a more relaxed journey. The Lobby, a serviced lounge and bar area, is situated between the First and Business cabins, providing passengers with a space to unwind in style. The collaboration with Armani/Casa brings a touch of sophistication to the Business experience with premium ceramics, glassware, and fabrics.

First Class passengers are treated to the ultimate luxury with the First Apartments. These nine private spaces feature designer tableware, a spacious leather lounge chair, and a separate ottoman that transforms into an 80-inch lie-flat bed. First Class also includes personal vanity units and access to an exclusive shower room, ensuring every need is met.

The A380 also features The Residence, the world’s only three-room suite in the sky. Accommodating up to two passengers, it boasts a private living room, bedroom, and ensuite bathroom, complete with a shower. A dedicated Etihad cabin crew provides personalised service while passengers indulge in gourmet meals, champagne, caviar, and a selection of high-end offerings, including The Residence Signature High Tea.
