CEVISAMA 2024 set to be cast in ceramic in Valencia

Event will showcase the future of design, sustainability, and innovation

Feria Valencia will host the 40th edition of CEVISAMA – the leading international tradeshow for ceramics, bathroom equipment, natural stone, and related sectors – from February 26 to March 1, 2024, in Valencia, Spain.

The 2024 edition of the fair will showcase innovation, technology, trends, and sustainability, encompassing new materials, machinery and industrialised construction.

Tile of Spain participation

The critical focus of CEVISAMA 2024 will be on ‘Made in Spain’ design, with more than 50 Tile of Spain members showcasing their latest innovations. Tile of Spain is the international brand of 125 ceramic tile manufacturers affiliated with the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER).

The milestone 40th-anniversary edition of CEVISAMA will see exhibitors engaging in person with hundreds of distributors, product prescribers (architects, interior designers, and real estate developers), mega purchasing groups, and retail chains from Spain and globally.

The five-day event will also offer attendees unique networking opportunities to develop new and foster existing business relationships.

Visitor numbers up

According to Feira Valencia, CEVISAMA 2024 visitor registration is up by 23% compared to the 2023 edition, with the show’s exclusive hosted buyers’ campaign alone seeing the attendance of 800 confirmed visitors from France, the United States, Germany, Poland, the UK, the UAE, Portugal, Morocco, Mexico, Colombia, Egypt, Romania, Austria, Canada and Israel.

Among the guest buyers are Spanish distributors and the leading distributors in overseas markets where Made in Spain ceramic tiles are a significant product or have considerable growth potential, along with professionals from the contract sector, who are substantial product specifiers and project promoters.

Of the foreign visitors, 41% are from the European Union, 16% from the Middle East, 13% from South America, 12% from North America; 5% from North Africa; 5% from the rest of Africa; 4% from Asia; 3% from Eastern Europe and 2% from Oceania.

Feria Valencia has renovated the exhibition space for CEVISAMA 2024 to offer visitors a smoother and more enriching experience and facilitate their encounter with the latest trends and products.

“The objective is to create new routes prioritising circulation within the pavilions and reducing the flow in the central gallery,” said Daniel Marco, Deputy Director of Feria Valencia.

CEVISAMA 2024 will feature a unique Institutional Hall – a space where all the show’s exhibitors will be represented, with the 40th anniversary as its protagonist.

A new feature of this year’s fair will be the Plaza Activa space, which is set to become the epicentre of the fair’s most outstanding activities and events.

In addition to being the venue of the prestigious Architecture Forum, the Plaza Activa will host the 40th Anniversary Gala component.

For 2024, the Architecture Forum is divided into three days, with a talk each afternoon dedicated to a separate speaker. In addition, there will also be daily continuous talks and awards ceremonies, including the Alfa de Oro – a space featuring ceramic motifs that portray history, technology, trade, and industry.

Among the new features of CEVISAMA 2024 is Proalso – a unique space where professionals will perform live demonstrations on how to apply different products.

Leading interior designers

Renowned Spanish interior designers Isabel López, Rocío Boscá and Paul Dieterlen will headline the Interior Design Forum on February 2 to discuss the hottest trends and applications in interior design. 

The interior design talks will be held in a new hub, the Plaza Activa, a sizeable all-purpose stage in Hall 1 on level 3. 

CEVISAMA 2024 has curated its most ambitious programme, delving into future trends, innovative design, sustainability, and industry-shaping innovations.

From February 26 to March 1, Feria Valencia will host a spectacular showcase featuring products from 500 leading brands and a comprehensive agenda featuring over 100 industry experts.

Plaza Activa

Carmen Álvarez, CEVISAMA Director, described the Plaza Activa as being the heart of the programme, housing forums, awards, and presentations. Notable events include the Architecture Forum, Interior Design Forum, and the prestigious Alfa de Oro awards.

On February 26

The New Architectonics Forum at 11 am explores architectural trends and their impact on hospitality and tourism. At 4 pm, architect José Luis Valenciano discusses sustainability, industrialisation, and digital transformation in ceramics. The day concludes with the highly anticipated Alfa de Oro Awards ceremony at 5.30 pm, celebrating excellence in ceramics and construction materials.

On February 27

It will be a significant day with the Stands Awards and a tribute to interior designer Antonio Segura. The Architecture Forum features prominent speakers Fuensanta Nieto, Max Arrocet, and Matthias Sauerbruch sharing insights into contemporary architecture. The day culminates in the Cevisama 40th Anniversary event with prize-giving ceremonies, speeches, and a reception.

On February 28

The programme includes discussions on the stone industry and speeches at The New Architectonics Forum addressing the role of construction companies and developers in industrialised construction. The Architecture Forum welcomes Néstor Montenegro, known for award-winning projects, at 5 pm.

On February 29

Interior Design Forum at 11 am with professionals Paul Dieterlen and Rocío Boscá, followed by a presentation by Isabel López Villalta. The Architecture Forum resumes in the afternoon with José María Sánchez discussing the cornerstones of architecture.

On March 1

Sustainability takes centre stage at The New Architectonics Forum from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Presentations showcase successful examples of sustainable industrialised construction, followed by the highly anticipated CevisamaLAB Awards, reinforcing Cevisama’s commitment to nurturing young talent and shaping the profession’s future.
