A new study has unveiled the most sought-after AI categories, with chatbots and conversational tools dominating the search landscape.

Data from Google Trends was analysed to determine the most popular AI types based on search volume, revealing significant shifts in interest over recent months, according to the Linkee study.

Leading the pack, chatbots and AI conversational tools have amassed nearly 260 million searches, indicating their prominence.

This category includes popular terms such as “chat AI,” “ChatGPT,” “Google AI,” and “Gemini AI.” Notably, Gemini AI has experienced an astounding 3150% increase in search interest, marking it the fastest-growing trend in this segment.

The creative AI and design tools category follows, with 8.5 million searches, representing a dramatic increase in interest by 5000%. This surge highlights the growing fascination with AI applications in creative fields, driven by searches for “AI art,” “AI art generator,” and tools like “Heygen AI.”

Role-playing AI chatbots have secured the third position with 5.7 million monthly searches. Janitor AI has seen a remarkable 1450% rise in searches, reflecting the growing interest in character-based AI applications.

Educational tools rank fourth, drawing 4.6 million searches. Perplexity AI, a research and conversational search engine, leads this category with a 123% increase in searches, showcasing the rising demand for AI-driven educational resources.

Image alteration tools, including terms like “Undress AI free tools,” have garnered significant attention, with 3.9 million searches and a 3500% rise in interest. This surge points to privacy concerns and the potential misuse of image manipulation technologies.

AI research and analysis tools hold the sixth spot with 3.25 million searches. Scite AI, which helps researchers find relevant scientific papers, has seen a 52% increase in searches, indicating a growing need for sophisticated research tools.

AI content creation and marketing tools are ranked seventh with 2.2 million searches, driven by a 1950% increase in interest for “AI marketing tools.” This reflects a notable shift towards leveraging AI for marketing and content generation.

Neurodiversity support tools rank eighth with 247,300 searches. Goblin AI, which offers tools designed to assist neurodivergent individuals, leads this category with a 126% increase in searches.

Finally, productivity AI apps, such as Calendar.ai, round out the top 10 with 62,100 searches and a 256% increase in interest, highlighting the growing integration of AI in personal and professional productivity.

The study underscores the rapid evolution and diverse applications of AI technologies, with each category demonstrating unique trends and shifts in user interest.
