Chopard Unveils ‘Contes De Fées’ Red Carpet Collection
Cannes Film Festival Glitters With Haute Joaillerie
Chopard’s renowned Haute Joaillerie workshops once again captivated the world with their latest masterpiece collection, unveiled at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
The Red Carpet Collection, a long-standing tradition of elegance and artistry, took centre stage with its 2024 theme, ‘Contes de Fées’ or Fairy Tales.
Crafted under the visionary eye of Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, the collection comprises 77 mesmerising creations inspired by the whimsical world of fairy tales.
Each piece, meticulously designed to adorn the esteemed actors gracing the red carpet, promises to enchant and captivate onlookers with its grace and extravagance.
Since its inception as the official partner of the Cannes Film Festival in 1998, Chopard’s Red Carpet Collection has remained a highly anticipated event, marking the convergence of cinema and Haute Joaillerie.
This year’s showcase, with its lineup of new pieces, pays homage to the festival’s edition number and reflects Scheufele’s profound love for cinema and the art of jewellery making.
Fairy Tales Theme
Under the theme of fairy tales, the collection transports viewers into a world of wonder and fantasy, where enchanted forests and magical creatures reign supreme.
From sculptural necklaces depicting majestic oak trees to delicate rings adorned with whimsical mushrooms, each creation tells a story, blending realism with the fantastical.
A notable highlight of the collection is titanium, a rarely employed metal in traditional jewellery. Titanium was chosen for its lightness and ability to take on various hues through anodisation.
This innovative approach allows for the creation of intricate designs that push the boundaries of creativity and technical precision.
Among the standout pieces is a sautoir necklace featuring a flower blooming within a pristine rock crystal, surrounded by meticulously crafted titanium flowers. Another enchanting creation portrays two butterflies gracefully suspended in the air, symbolising the carefree spirit of fairy tales.
Furthermore, the collection pays homage to the animal kingdom with pieces such as a ring adorned with pear-shaped emerald frogs and a tiara depicting a heavenly fairy with mother-of-pearl wings.
Caroline Scheufele’s unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of Haute Joaillerie is evident throughout the ‘Contes de Fées’ Red Carpet Collection.
By embracing themes that transcend time and culture, Chopard continues to redefine the art of jewellery making, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of imagination and wonderment.
