Chopard’s Enduring Affair With Cinema

As Official Partner Of The Cannes Film Festival

As the 77th Cannes Film Festival unfolds its grandeur from May 14-25, 2024, Chopard, a name that resonates with luxury and elegance, continues its captivating journey through cinema.

Since 1998, Chopard has held the exclusive title of Official Partner to the Festival, a testament to its exceptional standing in the industry.

This enduring partnership sees the Swiss Maison standing side by side with the most illustrious stars of the silver screen throughout the 12-day extravaganza, a privilege reserved for the select few.

At the core of Chopard’s love affair with cinema lies a tale of unparalleled artistry and tradition, embodied by the iconic Palme d’Or.

Conceived under the visionary leadership of Chopard’s Co-President and Artistic Director, Caroline Scheufele, the legendary Palme d’Or underwent a transformative redesign in 1997.

Since then, Chopard’s workshops have been able to craft the trophies presented at the Cannes Film Festival’s closing ceremony.

Palme D’Or

Adorned with a heart-shaped stem and 19 leaves meticulously fashioned from Fairmined-certified ethical yellow gold, set upon a base of emerald-shaped rock crystal, the Palme d’Or stands as a vibrant symbol of the longstanding alliance between the Geneva-based Maison and the Cannes Film Festival, a testament to Chopard’s dedication to the art of cinema.

Echoing Chopard’s artisanal mastery, the Palme d’Or shares its origins with the dazzling Red Carpet Collection, a showcase of Haute Joaillerie masterpieces befitting the illustrious history of the Cannes Film Festival.

This year, Caroline Scheufele unveils 77 exquisite jewellery creations inspired by the theme ‘Contes de Fées’ (Fairy Tales).

Seamlessly blending creative designs with exceptional gemstones, these fairytale jewels will grace the necks and wrists of actors during the iconic staircase ritual at the Palais des Festivals.

Trophée Chopard

In a testament to its commitment to nurturing emerging talent in international cinema, Chopard champions the Trophée Chopard.

This prestigious accolade is bestowed during an official Festival dinner and recognises an actor and actor with promising careers ahead. Since its inception in 2001, the Trophée Chopard has been a harbinger of future brilliance.

The 24th edition of this esteemed ceremony, set for May 17, will feature actor Demi Moore as its godmother, alongside Caroline Scheufele, Iris Knobloch (Festival President), and Thierry Frémaux (Festival General Delegate).

And in a jubilant celebration of the enduring passion for cinema, Caroline Scheufele will host the legendary Chopard soirée.

Set for May 21, the ‘Once Upon a Time’ evening promises an enchanting experience, unveiling creations from the Red Carpet Collection and Caroline’s Couture amidst a fairytale ambience brimming with delightful surprises, a night that promises to be a highlight of the Festival and a must-attend event for all cinema and luxury enthusiasts.

Throughout the Cannes fortnight, Chopard will welcome its guests to the illustrious Chopard Rooftop, perched atop the iconic Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, where moments of elegance, glamour, and cinematic splendour await.
