DEWA inaugurates 1,994 new distribution stations in 2025

 Dubai, UAE — June 2026 — Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has announced the commissioning of 1,994 new 11-kilovolt distribution stations in 2025, up from 1,530 stations in 2024 — a year-on-year increase of more than 30 percent.

 According to the Emirates News Agency, managing director and CEO of DEWA, said the authority continues to develop and expand its distribution network infrastructure to the highest international standards, ensuring it meets the growing demand for energy and water in Dubai.

He added that the expansion supports the emirate’s rapid economic and urban growth, anticipates demand projections through 2030, and reinforces Dubai’s standing as one of the world’s premier cities for living, working, and investment.

Executive Vice President of the Power Distribution Sector at DEWA, Rashid bin Humaidan, noted that work carried out on the 11kV distribution stations and related tasks throughout 2025 exceeded 1.45 million man-hours, all completed in accordance with the highest health and safety standards.

He further stated that the total number of medium-voltage distribution stations, operating at both 11kV and 6.6kV, reached 47,060 stations by the end of 2025
