Dubai, UAE — June 2026 — Dubai Chambers held a meeting in Toronto with Trevor Jones, Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, to explore ways of strengthening cooperation in the food and agricultural sectors between Dubai and Canada’s largest provincial economy.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the meeting was attended by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers.
Discussions centered on expanding collaboration across sectors of mutual interest, with a particular focus on food trade and agri-food technology.
Al Mansoori said the relationship between Dubai and Canada represents a promising model of partnership built on shared interests and a forward-looking vision for growth. He added that strengthening business ties with Canada supports trade and investment flows, opens wider horizons for companies, and lays the foundation for a long-term economic partnership of mutual benefit.
The Dubai Chambers delegation also highlighted the competitive advantages Dubai offers Canadian companies, including its strategic location, world-class infrastructure, and business-friendly investment environment. The delegation underscored Dubai’s role as a key gateway to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
The visit comes amid growing trade momentum between Dubai and Canada, with non-oil bilateral trade reaching AED 12.6 billion ($3.43 billion) in 2025, a rise of 23.2 percent compared to 2024.
The meeting builds on Dubai International Chamber’s opening of its first North American representative office in Toronto in June last year. The office works closely with the Canadian business community to strengthen ties with key public and private sector stakeholders, promote Dubai’s competitive advantages as a global business destination, and support Canadian companies looking to establish a presence in Dubai and expand into global markets.
The visit is part of Dubai Chambers’ ongoing series of international trade missions under its “Growth Corridors”initiative, which aims to expand trade and investment cooperation between Dubai and high-potential global markets.
