Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will roll out four new public bus routes and introduce adjustments to more than 70 existing services starting January 9, as part of a wider effort to improve network efficiency during peak travel hours.

The new routes are aimed at easing pressure on busy corridors connecting Al Satwa, Jumeirah 3 and Al Wasl, with directional services operating during morning and evening peak periods to improve punctuality and reduce congestion.

Under the new arrangements, Route 88A will run one way from Al Satwa Bus Station to Jumeirah 3 during morning peak hours, while Route 88B will operate in the opposite direction during the evening peak to support Route 88 services. Similarly, Route 93A will run from Al Satwa Bus Station to Al Wasl in the morning, with Route 93B providing the return service in the evening.

Extensive upgrades across the network

Alongside the new routes, RTA will implement a wide range of enhancements across the bus network, including timetable revisions, stop sequence adjustments, route extensions, depot changes and minor operational updates aimed at improving daily mobility and overall passenger experience.

Key changes include the addition of new bus stops on Route 6 at Dubai People of Determination Center and Mayo Clinic, extensions to Routes 13A, 55, F39, F54 and F55, and the realignment of Route F54 to better serve the South Residential Area of Jebel Ali Free Zone. Several routes will also see the cancellation or relocation of selected bus stops to improve efficiency and safety.

Notable updates include new stops added on Route 18 near Al Nahda Pond Park and MSB Private School, Route 36B in Dubai Outsource City, Route F61 at Al Jassmi Masjid, and Route 320 near VOGO Grand Hotel. Meanwhile, Routes E100 and E201 will see the relocation of the Max Metro Station bus stop to Al Jafiliya Bus Station.

RTA said the changes are designed to reduce waiting times, increase service reliability during peak demand and enhance connectivity across Dubai’s public transport network. Passengers are advised to check updated routes and schedules via the S’hail app.
