Dubai RTA earned AED3.7 billion from digital transactions in 2023

821 million transactions conducted

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s digital revenues for 2023 soared by 16.8% over 2022, reaching AED 3.705 billion.

The digital transactions conducted through the Dubai RTA’s channels reached 821 million, a slight 1% increase from 2022. Notably, transactions via the transport agency’ smart apps surged to 15.299 million, reflecting a 29% growth. The real-time happiness indicator across the agency’s apps surpassed 95%, indicating a 2% improvement in user satisfaction.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai RTA stated: “The number of registered users on [Dubai] RTA’s digital service channels rose to 1.404 million, marking a 20% increase compared to 2022, with RTA’s apps downloaded 3.056 million times from app stores.”

The Dubai RTA recently introduced an upgraded version of its Mahboob chatbot, now powered by ChatGPT technology, to enhance customer interaction. This advanced system delivers human-like responses while ensuring user data protection. The agency also launched 30 next-generation smart kiosks across 21 locations in Dubai emirate, which generated AED309 million in revenue, a 12% rise from the previous year.

Dubai RTA’s updated mobile applications include an AI-powered parking prediction feature and an NFC-based Nol top-up service for instant balance updates. The Dubai Drive app has simplified vehicle plate transfers, minimising the need for in-person service centre visits. In contrast, the S’hail app now facilitates 18 million planned journeys, promoting sustainable transport options like bicycles and e-scooters.

Furthermore, Dubai RTA activated the first phase of its 360 services initiative, launching 63 new services, including Ok payments and commercial rentals. Collaborations with the Dubai Government have enhanced the Dubai Now app, integrating private insurance services for a comprehensive user experience.

Through these innovative digital channels and services, Dubai RTA continues demonstrating its commitment to transforming Dubai into one of the world’s most creative cities while enhancing the overall customer experience.
