Dubai, UAE — November 2025 — Dubai Airports is expanding its flagship ‘Red Carpet’ biometric service to the arrivals hall at Terminal 3, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Majed Al Joker, announced.
The move is part of a broader strategy to enhance the traveler experience and accommodate record-breaking passenger traffic.
The announcement was made by Al Joker, who told the Emirates News Agency on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025 that the innovative corridor processes passengers in as little as 6 seconds and up to a maximum of 14 seconds.
Al Joker emphasized that the service’s significance lies not only in serving individuals but in enabling entire groups of up to eight or ten people to pass through the smart corridor simultaneously using real-time biometric data processing.
This first-of-its-kind smart service allows passengers to pass through passport control within seconds without presenting any travel documents or having to stop.
“We continually work to reimagine the passenger journey by integrating technology into operations and enhancing the efficiency and productivity of travel procedures,” Al Joker stated, adding that biometric technologies have been key in reshaping processes by integrating, simplifying, or even eliminating various steps entirely.
He also noted that a significant part of the development work is not visible to passengers, such as using artificial intelligence for aircraft positioning, assessing aircraft characteristics, and analyzing operational data in real time to enable faster and more accurate decisions.
The record results achieved by Dubai International Airport in the third quarter and since the start of the year were attributed by Al Joker to a fully integrated operational ecosystem built on efficiency, a collaborative team culture, and strong tourism and economic demand.
He confirmed expectations for strong traffic in December, aligning with national projections for a record season, and noted that teams are fully prepared with flexible operational plans to manage peak periods.
While fourth-quarter figures are under review, the airport expects to surpass 95.2 million passengers this year.
Regarding Al Maktoum International Airport, Al Joker reported notable growth, with around 910,000 passengers handled in the first half of the year across more than 20 airlines, and expectations to reach nearly one million passengers by year-end.
He clarified that the new airport design is in its final stages, with tenders and partnerships ready, and emphasized that the existing terminal is not part of the new airport, which will be entirely different in form, scale, structure, and capabilities.
At the Dubai Airshow 2025, Al Joker said the event serves as a platform for exchanging expertise and showcasing new innovations, including next-generation air mobility solutions, electric aircraft, and vertical take-off aircraft.
He noted that Dubai Airports is participating within a sustainability alliance alongside dnata, flydubai, and other partners, with the aim of presenting practical solutions for using sustainable tools in aircraft handling and relying on renewable energy across ground operations.
