The Abu Dhabi EDITION unveils an immersive collaboration with ETHR—an Emirati-rooted brand redefining tradition through contemporary design and eco-conscious values. Officially opening on Saturday, 17 May, the EDITION x ETHR seasonal pop-up transforms the hotel’s Lobby Bar into a serene, thoughtfully designed space inspired by the iconic Frond House—a timeless emblem of Emirati heritage.
Rooted in the architectural legacy of the Areesh—traditional homes constructed from palm fronds, stalks, and khoos ropes—ETHR’s Frond House reimagines this ancestral design using minimal steel beams and sustainably sourced natural materials. Every detail, from the palm-frond roof to the woven textures, honors the craftsmanship of a resourceful era while aligning with ETHR’s future-focused sustainability principles.
At the core of the pop-up lies a celebration of community, culture, and creativity. Designed as a meeting point for tastemakers, residents, and travelers, the space reflects EDITION’s refined minimalism layered with ETHR’s sensory storytelling and cultural depth. It is a haven where design, dialogue, and tradition coexist in harmony.
The curated menu features specialty coffee roasted in Abu Dhabi, including espresso, cortado, Spanish latte, and hand-brewed V60. ETHR’s signature refreshers offer bold, seasonal flavor combinations—from the zesty Purple Sky and floral Hibiscus to the tropical Mango Reviver. Accompanying these are Emirati-inspired desserts, such as the traditional homemade Aseeda, a signature Date Cake baked with Al Ain dates and caramelized pecans, and a light Vanilla Cheesecake with cherry-raspberry compote.
Beyond its culinary artistry, ETHR’s installation champions sustainability. By using upcycled metals and locally sourced biodegradable materials, the pop-up not only honors heritage but also embraces an environmentally conscious vision—minimizing waste and eliminating single-use plastics across all operations.
