Emirates Issues Important Passport Validity Reminder for UAE Nationals

Emirates airline has issued an important reminder to UAE citizens, clarifying that their travel documents must have a minimum validity of six months before departure  regardless of their destination.

According to the airline, this regulation aligns with UAE government requirements and applies to all international destinations, except for travel within the GCC. The rule is enforced even if the destination country’s entry regulations differ.

“If your travel document does not meet this requirement, you will not be able to complete the check-in process,” Emirates stated, urging passengers to verify their passport or Emirates ID validity well in advance of their travel date.

To assist travellers, passport renewal services are available at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3, Arrival Level Immigration Offices, allowing citizens to update their documents quickly before flying.

The airline’s advisory comes as the UAE’s travel season picks up, reminding residents and citizens alike to ensure compliance with travel document requirements to avoid disruptions at the airport.
