Ericsson to showcase 5G and AI-powered solutions at GITEX Global 2024
Live demos all week long
Ericsson will showcase cutting-edge 5G innovations and AI-powered solutions, such as network slicing, telco AI, and improved uplink for live streams, at GITEX Global 2024, which will be held from October 14 to 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The telecommunications giant has confirmed that it will unveil groundbreaking advancements that underscore the importance of a mobile-first world enhanced by cloud technology and AI.
At GITEX Global 2024 – billed as the largest technology event in the world – Ericsson will demonstrate how its high-performance networks and innovative technology capabilities pave the way for enhanced consumer and enterprise experiences while supporting global sustainability initiatives.
Visitors to the Ericsson stand in Hall 2 at DWTC will be able to engage with industry experts and witness live demonstrations of state-of-the-art 5G technologies, including enhanced uplink capabilities for live streams and real-time applications of ‘telco AI’.
Attendees will also have the chance to immerse themselves in hands-on experiences that illustrate the monetisation potential of 5G for communication service providers. Critical use cases on display will include network slicing and differentiated connectivity, showcasing the versatile applications of this next-generation technology.
GCC focus
According to the June 2024 edition of the Ericsson Mobility Report, 5G is projected to dominate the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market by 2029, accounting for nearly 90% of mobile subscriptions in the region, translating to over 80 million connections.
This rapid growth highlights the GCC’s leadership in embracing advanced digital services and marks a transformative shift for service providers as they evolve into tech-driven enterprises.
Boston presentation
Meanwhile, Ericsson hosted an exclusive event in Boston last month to discuss the company’s strategy for driving enterprise digitalisation and innovation through 5G technology.
During the event, Ericsson executives announced a groundbreaking collaboration with some of the world’s largest telecom operators, including América Móvil, AT&T, Bharti Airtel, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Reliance Jio, Singtel, Telefonica, Telstra, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Vodafone. This partnership will see these communication service providers (CSPs) open their networks to create a global platform that makes advanced network capabilities accessible via combined network APIs.
Key speakers, including Erik Ekudden, Ericsson’s Chief Technology Officer, and Niklas Heuveldop, Vonage’s CEO and Head of the Business Area Global Communications Platform, highlighted the significance of this collaboration. They emphasised its potential to accelerate digitalisation and create a robust network effect across the industry.
As the telecom sector embraces this historic venture, the focus is on leveraging 5G technology to enhance service delivery and foster innovation in enterprise solutions.
