Etihad Airways launches $399 in-cabin pet travel offer amid rising demand

Dubai: Etihad Airways has introduced a limited-time offer reducing the cost of its “Pets Onboard” service to $399 per flight segment, as demand for pet-friendly travel continues to grow. The offer is valid for bookings and travel completed by May 31.

The airline said the move is aimed at making in-cabin pet travel more accessible, particularly for passengers who prefer to keep their cats and dogs close during flights rather than placing them in cargo.

Currently, Etihad stands as the only UAE-based airline allowing pets to travel inside the aircraft cabin, a feature that has gained traction among pet owners seeking a more comfortable and controlled travel experience.

Under the service, small cats and dogs can remain in the cabin in airline-approved carriers, helping reduce separation anxiety and allowing owners to monitor their pets throughout the journey.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said pets are increasingly viewed as part of the family, highlighting the importance of enabling passengers to travel together with greater ease and peace of mind.

Cabin arrangements and seating options

Etihad has outlined specific arrangements for travelling with pets depending on the cabin class. In Economy, pets must remain in approved carriers placed under the seat in front of the passenger. Travellers looking for additional space can purchase an extra seat to accommodate their pet more comfortably.

In Business Class, pets are provided with an extra seat, offering enhanced space and consistency in handling throughout the flight.
