Experience Abu Dhabi is set to launch a unique poetry activation at Zayed National Museum on May 28, offering visitors a personal cultural experience through one-to-one conversations with poets in both Arabic and English.
The activation invites guests to share their memories, reflections and stories with poets, who will then transform these conversations into original poems inspired by Abu Dhabi, its people and its culture. Open to UAE nationals, residents and tourists alike, the initiative aims to create meaningful exchanges through the power of poetry and storytelling.
The experience forms part of the museum’s five-day “The Joy of Eid” programme, running from May 27 to 31, which celebrates Eid traditions through music, storytelling, hospitality, craftsmanship and cultural performances.
Nassra Al Buainain, Director of Learning & Public Engagement at Zayed National Museum, said the initiative reflects the enduring cultural legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
She noted that Sheikh Zayed viewed poetry as deeply connected to leadership, culture and national identity, adding that the activation highlights how poetry continues to live through the stories and voices of the community.
“The Joy of Eid” programme is designed to give visitors of all ages an opportunity to experience Emirati Eid traditions through interactive cultural activities hosted across the museum’s public spaces.
